Gameplay Issues May be Due to the Coaching Skll Trees
It seems that a lot of the gameplay issues, particularly the defense, may be due to the newly introduced coach skill trees. Here's my rationale.(This is all based on going from exhibition or ranked games to dynasty where the coach skills effect gameplay.) Let's take coverage for example, (since most of the complaints are regarding pass defense). If the base gameplay ie. exhibition or ranked, allowed for a DB to have really tight coverage? What happens in dynasty when your defensive coordinator comes in and has a level 3 for lockdown corners and no fly zone? Unless gameplay is somehow separate between the 2 modes. Otherwise, it seems that this is what's producing unbalanced gameplay. On a side note, I've noticed a dramatic difference in my teams overall gameplay when I get my impact players going. If you factor that light a fire skill into this equation. You are looking at another variable that can dramatically effect gameplay balance.

Legacy issues? Implementing new game modes and features without fixing the little things that have plagued the series for years? Those are my thoughts, not saying they matter much.
Switching away from the sarcasm channel its a nice theory man, but I highly doubt its the case, but I'm usually wrong don't listen to me. -
Re: Gameplay Issues May be Due to the Coaching Skll Trees
From my understanding of what's been posted here DB glitch has nothing to do with coverage skill level. It has to do with the CPU setting the play-style to aggressive which calls for shorter zones. I think coach skills are a nice addition and serve to create a better challenge in the dynasty.
i.e. in my WVU dynasty year 2 i reached the ranking of #11 before my game with Texas..it actually was a bad thing to get that ranking before the game because it activated the "Big game" perk for Texas. They came out fired up and blew the doors off of my team. But I enjoyed it because I want the CPU to come out fired up for a game like that.Comment

I feel that it affects more than just dynasty mode. Theres no coaching trees in exhibitions or Ultimate Team and the guys do the same thing. I just want my guys to react to the football.
I wonder if anyone in the sliders section has done anything to fix this, but its just as simple as doing some of the sliders. I think its our own teams AI... I do notice that the computer AI is not as dumb on higher levels when i play them.Comment

Re: Gameplay Issues May be Due to the Coaching Skll Trees
This makes sense. I am Arizona in my OD with a created coach and my DB's run around like complete idiots all the time. It seems like they have no awareness at all. However I'm Nebraska in my personal off line dynasty and I just used their default coaches and my DB's seem to play much better. I haven't played enough games to be able to be positive but it seems like you may be on to something..??
One flaw though is just playing user games vs my bro testing coverages out on exhibition with default heisman sliders our db's were terrible. We were trying to disprove the "broken defense" theory and could not. They wouldn't cover certain routes no matter what we tried. And trust me we tried everything!Comment

Re: Gameplay Issues May be Due to the Coaching Skll Trees
I truly believe they had to tune the game the way that it is presently, to compensate for all the coaching skills boost that users will receive in dynasty play. Lets see exactly what ends up being patched. You would think that we would receive more tuning updates. I think the game only needs minor tweaks. I would hate for a patch to alter the core gameplay, and turn it back to previous iterations. Thus limiting the physics engine!JahsWillComment

Wow Jah, I think you hit on something here.
Of course! Why else would they implement the Coaching tree?
Your players and coaches must both develop. The players start pretty much fully developed, but your Coach and therefore your execution starts at scratch.
As you said, lets hear from someone who has the full tree lit up.Comment
