    Leaving recruiting to CPU?

    Question about recruiting...

After I play my games in dynasty, usually I just sim to the next week without touching recruiting. For some reason I don't feel like taking the time to mess with it. But my question is, is the CPU doing everything for me that I need to do in recruiting? Can I still expect to get at least a decent class next year?

In previous versions it always seemed to get me a decent class

also, if there was ever a year to indulge in recruiting its this year. Its a lot of fun and really simple, but still pretty deep. A lot of times all you have to do is set and forget!

It depends on your team. And what the HC has in the way of recruiting skills.

I've had decent luck with the cpu doing well. But also have had it do terrible on bad teams. On a good team it will go after and some times land 4 adn 5 start players. But if you are a mid level or lower program it will only target 3 star as the highest.

Wouldn't it target anyone who is interested at the beginning of the season? I am pretty sure it does because in my dynasty Georgia Southern got a 5 star recruit in year 2-3.

Yes, it will only go after those interested at first. But as the season goes on and you fill your needs, it will start going after others as well. In my Idaho dynasty it went after and almost landed a 4 star late in the year (I checked on it every week) that it only added in like week 12 or something.

You shouldn't have a problem then. There will be no short supply of good players wanting to play for Florida.

                  Re: Leaving recruiting to CPU?

I let the cpu handle my recruiting. As the HC, I find kids I want then set the board turning off board assistance so the cpu can't add more guys than I want to target. I then scout every kid since I've got my coach skills in recruiting such that I can scout 100% for 50 pts. I let the cpu handle everything after that.

To me, it adds realism to this thing in that I'm the HC which to me means I'm cognizant of EVERYTHING that goes on with my team...not that I do everything that goes on with my team.

Thanks for the responses guys. I was a bit concerned because last year I let the CPU do all my recruiting and in year 2 I had to use a walk on kicker because they didn't get one.

If I were you, I would turn off recruiting board assistance and put 15-20(some guys won't likely get recruited if user cpu is like regular cpu) guys that you want and have the cpu recruit those guys for you, then when someone commits to another either let it go or add another recruit to your board.

That's exactly what I do and have been doing for a few installments in the series now.

Also, be sure to check on the status of your recruits every few weeks and if you have a recruit that's already visited and you're down 1500+ replace them with someone with a low percent lock or someone that is still interested in you

did they stop adding new recruits to the off-season recruiting pool?
last game i played was NCAA12 and it had it on that one

                            thanks

                              Hey guys, another question:

If a guy has your school listed as his #1 interest do you have to add him to your board to get him to sign?

Also if a guy has locked you out is it safe to remove him from the board and forget about him?
