Blocked Field Goals?
This part of the game really needs to be fixed. Blocked FGs are one of the most exciting plays in football, yet they are just impossible on the game. Why would it be so difficult to have a man bust through the middle get a paw up there, and block the kick. Has anyone else ever had success?Alabama Crimson Tide

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
probably because they cant find a way to make it possible, but not abuseable (nano blitzes etc) which would completely ruin online play. its probably the same reason its nearly impossible to block punts. -
Re: Blocked Field Goals?
yea remember the days of the PS2? You could get the guy right on the edge and he would be in position to make a block 50% of time. If there was a way to combat that, because we all know how many good and honest people WOULDN'T abuse that, it would be splendid.Comment

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
Offline or online, if forced to choose between the two extremes, I prefer impossible over too frequent. It would be nice if a solution could be found though to make them happen a little more frequently.Comment

75-85% of the time I can block field goals online and offline. Punts I can block depending on what punt formation my online opponent chooses. I can only block a punt against computer of they are punting from their own endzone.Comment

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
I agree. From a developer standpoint, I don't know how you can create something where the user can succeed once per 40 attempts (or whatever the appropriate success rate is?). The only way I can think of would be remove the skill equation all together, and have the AI 100% determine when kicks are blocked....but lots of folks wouldn't be happy taking the user out of it.Comment

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
Actually not a bad idea if it can be done correctly, though that's essentially allowing the AI to determine when kicks are blocked - unless skill of the C/LS is taken into account.WE ARE PENN STATE

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
For punts, an easy way to make it possible to block punts but not abusable is by having different punting formations. In real life, with the style of punts and the different formations, they could easlily make 10-15 different punt plays.
The creators could make it to where you have to pick the perfect punt block play against a certain formation and then get an amzing jump to have a shot at blocking the punt. It would make the users have more strategy on special teams and add a realistic special teasm feel.Comment

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
Been saying this for YEARS. But I honestly think there would be too many complaining about bad snaps if they implemented that. I would LOVE it.Always looking for solid CF25 Dynasty owners, follow the link to get started >> PS5 P5 Dynasty DiscordComment

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
I think EA should implement what users have discussed about bad snap but I don't think it should be random. I think the Kick meter should be made circular. The first revolution sweet spot should determine the snap quality (speed of meter movent determined by center's awareness and composure). Based on the snap the second go ground should determine kick power and accuracy as it does now. The kick meter speed should be based on the kickers abilities/ratings and the snap. Meaning a bad snap should make the meter go faster which would result in more failed kick types. i.e. i like to use lower trajectories on my long kicks. A bad snap and kick should result in an even lower trajectory making the kick easier to block if the opposing player jumps in time or has a 6'7 guy in there etc.
Also EA could do away with if you miss the meter it automatically kicks at low power. they could opt for the meter to give a second a chance at getting the perfect the kick but of course this would mean the kicker takes longer and makes those 2nd revolution kicks easier to block.Last edited by dghustla; 07-31-2013, 12:51 PM.Comment

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
Special teams hasn't been touched in years in either NCAA or Madden, it's pretty frustrating. I remember when the kick meter wouldn't start until the holder got the ball, you were able to block kicks then {that was back in like 07 or 08 in the "Momentum" feature days}, still kind of sounds like the way to go though.Comment

Re: Blocked Field Goals?
The solution is simple......Make a sim mode that can be turned on or off.....
Sim mode = Bobbled snaps, fumbles made by regular tackles, and 1 button punting and fg's....Punting, kicking and line play are all determined by ratings. Once the ball is away or blocked, you take contol of your player again.
If you don't like sim mode, turn it off and you can play the game we have now with lack of fumbles, no blocked kicks, no bobbled snaps, etc.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

with :03 seconds left in the BCS title game I don't want the cpu to decide that this is the first time all season I'll have a kick blocked. It should be in the hands of the user to execute the snap and kick.Last edited by dghustla; 07-31-2013, 12:58 PM.Comment
