    Suns rebuild

I am trying to rebuild the Suns slowly by gutting the roster, the untouchables are Len and probably Bledsoe since they just traded for him. What would be realistic trades for Gortat, morris twins and Dragic. Every one else will be cap relief.

i kinda wanna keep Butler for veteran support

Trade Gortat, Morris Bros in a package for LMA from Portland. You might have to take back Freeland.

Real NBA general managers don't try to complete "realistic trades," they try to win trades. As long as trade override is "off," try to get the best you can in return.

Id try and trade Gortat Scola and Dragic for Dwight. Not sure how it would work contract wise though. IMO playing him with Bledsoe Butler and a Morris twin is a pretty good set up. Butler and Morris would serve as floor spacers to give Dwight room on the block to work and Bledsoe space to attack. Also with having Dwight in his free agent year and no other big contracts you should be able to resign him and get another good backcourt player to form a big 3 of Howard Bledsoe and a Free agent

But real managers don't have to consider the inept trading skills of the cpu.

If we are trying to be realistic?

Lakers would not be trading for Dwight the same year they receive him.

Just wait til he is a FA to be fair to the cpu. I find that when people view "rebuild" that means trade to win the ship in year one.

Do a trade finder for just Gortat and Scola and see what you get. IRL Dwight would want to be on a team with strong starting guards (Thus Lin & Harden on the Rockets). Trade those two big men for a Monta Ellis, Brandon Jennings, Darren Collision, Jeremy Lin. Keep Dragic as a back up and try to package Beasley and Dudley for back-to-back 1st round picks to a team IN THE EAST.

If you want to be really out landish you could try Gortat, Beasley, Dragic for WestBrook at OKC. If they still don't bite swap Dragic for Bledsoe and give them your picks(Hurts to give him up but your goal is Dwight right so cheer up.)

This may take a few years in the mode but just sim if you dont want to play with a broken team. Dwight's personality is play for a winner so making the playoffs at the least could help you land him in the FA.

Inept trading skills of the CPU? Some NBA general managers are just as inept.

Take that Dwight Howard trade (from Magic to Lakers) from last year. Had an OS user posted that same exact trade before it actually happened, these forums would rip him apart for it being "unrealistic." They would say the deal is unfair because the Magic wouldn't be getting enough back to make the trade "fair."

It makes me laugh when people try to propose "fair trades" because it rarely works out in the NBA that a trade is fair and benefits both teams equally. Real GMs try to win every trade they make. "Fairness" is not part of their business. If you want a true "sim," act like a real GM and try to do what is best for your team. Forget about the other teams, they aren't your concern.

Pretending that GMs would only make "fair trades" is more unrealistic than most of the proposed trades I see get shot down on these forums.

My advice to the OP about his Suns rebuild, shop Gortat, Dragic, and anybody else for the max value you can get. That's how the real Suns GM would do it.

I'm not saying other has to be fair.. just realistic. Trading for dwight would not be realism because the rockets just put all that effort in getting him. M talking trades like... Gortat and bledsoe for another team's franchise centerpiece.. if you can find an unfairb .trade go for it. Just I like to stick with trades that could happen.
