Re: Which offense do you prefer to use?
Pro style.......ALSO, I can't post new threads yet and I need help!
When I run the option I always see a "P" above a certain defender, whether it's the opposing teams END, OLB, or SAFETY. I understand this is the guy I need to watch when running it and decide whether to pitch or not, BUT why in the HELL is the player with the "P" NEVER, EVER blocked? I could have a lineman directly in front of him, but he is NEVER blocked. Just seems really unrealistic. -

Yeah, kinda the whole point of the read option, allows you to outnumber the defenders, one less person to blockComment

Re: Which offense do you prefer to use?
I have two dynasties and one I use USC's pro offense. It's a true pro offense. I'm also obsessed with the pistol with ball state. I watched ball state a few years ago and they ran the pistol and it seemed really interesting. Good for running or passing.Comment

Re: Which offense do you prefer to use?
No-Huddle Spread Option. A realistic no-huddle btw, not the same formation same play crap you see online. I use UCLA, and Brett Hundley is cool, not as fast as I'd like him to be, but he gets the job done. I've rushed and threw for over 200 yards in all 4 of my online dynasty games.
Basically pick my personnel in which I'd run with (no-huddle) for about 5-7 plays depending on the yardage picked up, and the option always presents a problem for the defense, pick and choose your poison, but because of the threat of the option, passing becomes easier, especially off of play-action. Slants, curls, drags, quick 6 yard receptions draws the defense in closer and tighter, ultimately resulting to a perfectly setup PA streak route being open.
The No-Huddle Spread Option is an offense that revolves around running the ball, but essentially makes your pass game super deadly because there are so many things the defense has to watch for. Read options, HB runs from Shotgun, play action, short to intermediate routes, deep routes, everything is in play, and no-huddle makes it more difficult cause the defense can't set up properly.Comment

Re: Which offense do you prefer to use?
I have gone back and forth for a month trying to decide what offense to run.
Here are my opinions:
Spread (Air Raid):
+ Great pocket-passer QB
+ Great throwing accuracy and arm strength
+ Opportunity for huge plays all the time
- Limited run game
- Defenses can stack the pass
Spread Option (no-huddle):
+ It's a blast to run
+ No huddle = more plays = more opportunities to score
+ Dual-threat QB
+ Better run threat compared to Spread (Air Raid)
- Lack of accuracy and arm strength from QB
- QB is more at risk to take big hits and become injured
I am still undecided...Last edited by adamshpe; 07-31-2013, 06:24 PM.Comment

Re: Which offense do you prefer to use?
In the past, I've varied it from Dynasty to Dynasty. Sometimes I'd run the Spread, other times Air Raid (though last year until the game freezes became too much to deal with, I used a custom playbook). While I do tend to throw quite a bit, I prefer a Scrambling QB so in case something goes wrong (i.e. pass protection breaks down, receivers can't shake their defender, etc.) I can make something happen out of nothing. So this year when I finally start my first Dynasty (still waiting on University of San Diego to be done via TB), I'll try out the Spread Option. Failing that, I'll likely go back to the regular Spread.NCAA: Minnesota, Minnesota St-Mankato
