Do you mean online or against the CPU?

Maybe cheesers have found a way to abuse fouls. But against legit opponents fouls are barely called in my experience with simulation sliders.

Please get rid of autosave so we can go back to testing our sliders with the option to save when we want to save..
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

        Don't know if you've seen this; http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2045302235

Its a somewhat workaround to saving slider sets w/ rosters in one file.

Don't get rid of auto-save. Make it an option. Nothing should ever be one way or the other if it doesn't have to be. Let the gamer decide.

You can turn it off under controller settings.

I hate when people say "Remove this" and "Remove that." NO. Don't remove SQUAT unless it breaks the game. If it's just a feature some users like and some don't, give us the option to toggle it on and off.

magnetic defense and lazy auto shot contesting shouldnt be a option. You guys cry for full control but if taking control away makes the game easy you dont complain. I get tired of seeing the CPU making players miss almost every jumper because my opponent set "shot contest" to Always. Thats BS. if you gonna commit to playing on ball defense then do it yourself. Else run offball and say you providing help D. No more hand holding to make the game easier for casuals. GOt to put a stop to this crap before the series becomes automated offense and defense

Get your skills up, go back and play older 2k's , and learn how to anticipate passes and shot attempts like a real 2k player. None of this DEFENSIVE ASSIST 100 + AUTO SHOT CONTEST ALWAYS crap. guys want arcade came wrapped up in a simulation bow for christmas it seems

No, it isn't. Online (hell, and probably offline), it's impossible to time a shot-contest with the Y button quickly enough to contest the shot as fast as NBA players can, when you're playing people who don't telegraph when they're going to shoot.

It's automatic in the game because it's basically a reflex for basketball players in real life to get a hand up immediately when they see their man shooting. Just like dribbling if you're moving with the ball in your hand-- should we have to tell our player to take every dribble? No, because basketball players already do it without consciously telling themselves to.

And I think the CPU will always use the auto-contest, no matter what the setting is at. That setting is for the defender the user is controlling. And for the record, it's REALLY easy to make shots with good shooters against defenders who use auto-contest instead of the block button.

Also, those fancy signature gather moves with a whole bunch of elaborate dribbles which pretty much give away the fact that the player is about to pull up (and when they will do so) are kind of annoying. It makes the game too predictable. I hate being able to know exactly what the CPU is going to do before it does it, when I'm

I think we should be given the option to assign several different stepbacks/crossover pullups/etc. for each player, similar to the way the dunk packages were designed this year (which was pretty damn good). Or maybe include sig gathers, but still give players the ability to do a simple stepback animation that creates good separation and isn't slow (like when, I think, 2K8 had a stepback button. It was great for creating space).

Why does it matter if you have auto shot contest on anyway?

It's perfectly doable to defend without any assistance online and be good at it. I honestly fail to see how experimented 2K players like yourself actually enjoy playing with thoses kind of assistances. I thought simulation was all about having control. No harm though, I just don't see it.

Because every time you see those animations, you know the CPU is gonna shoot, since they don't have the capability of breaking the animation and faking you out.

Simulation is about having control, but like I said, especially with lag online, it's impossible for me (and everybody I know-- I play some really good dudes in 2K, too) to react as quickly as NBA players do.

If you watch an NBA game, defenders usually jump at the exact same time as the shooter. There's no way you can pull that off consistently online, unless the person you're playing is horribly predictable. At least as far as I've seen.

                                It's cool.

I very rarely use Y to contest anyway I just use the right stick wich allows you to still move around and stay in front of the guy wether he shoots or not.

I think theses assistances should be tied with the difficulty you're playing. I wish all theses where forced off when playing on Hof online. But I guess a lot of people would disagree with me here.
