Straight up default
I'm trying to pick a slider set for my dynasty and reading through these threads it seems like nobody can find a common balance again this year. That being said is anyone playing straight up default? What type of results are you seeing? I just want to enjoy this game and for once not switching between slider sets until ncaa 15 comes out.Tags: None -
Re: Straight up default
About 13 ypc with QB's on the option and about 8 ypc with running backs. The dive play out of any formation is an instant 6 yards. I think that is why most of us have turned away from default, but if you are willing, a guy named Jacory just posted a very promising looking slider set you should give that a shot, you can find them here:I'm trying to pick a slider set for my dynasty and reading through these threads it seems like nobody can find a common balance again this year. Re: Straight up default
I get good games with the following:
CPU Defense: Heisman
CPU Offense: All American (to reduce robo QB)
7 minute quarters
Game speed: normal
Speed threshold: 50
Camera: wide
Penalties: default
I win and lose against the CPU with these settings.Comment

Re: Straight up default
I used the same setting except slow speed and 8 minute quarters the cpu out gained me but I one due to turnovers. I'm rolling with these.Comment

Re: Straight up default
On default there is too much passing yardage from CPU, running game can be easy to dominate, etc. I think that you should start by finding the game speed you like from default, then edit the other things. Just dropping a few things like QBA and RBL will help a lot.. and I lowered OPI and DPI penalties just to make coverage tighter.I'm trying to pick a slider set for my dynasty and reading through these threads it seems like nobody can find a common balance again this year. Re: Straight up default
I was following matt10s slider thread making all the adjustments they were. After a while it got to be tedious and took the fun out of it. About 2 weeks ago, I said screw it and just started playing on default AA(I did this last year), and I'll never go back to slider hell. For me at least, they play nearly perfect...realistic outcomes and stats. I'm also not seeing the DB glitch. I never run 4 verts and i don't complete a long ball that often at all. I'll be sticking with default AA for sure.Comment

Straight up default
Default AA with auto pass coach mode is gaming heaven on NCAA 14 (to me)! Another reason is because I'd hate to jump on a slider bandwagon and when a patch drops have it screw everything up. In addition, I'm never satisfied with game outcomes with sliders. I'm always second guessing whether certain things would happen if I was playing on default. By staying on default I take the outcomes for what they are and roll on. I'm in year 4 of my Georgia State career coach mode offline dynasty. This is the furthest along I've been in a dynasty this soon after release.I was following matt10s slider thread making all the adjustments they were. Re: Straight up default
Coach mode...
AA default here too except I am experimenting with slow speed and 20-25 threshold and 10 minute quarters...
second year with Ark St with a victory over ECU at the New Orleans Bowl...
The AI both went for it on 4th down and called a fake punt against me in the same game
havnt missed a fg yetFor a great Christian website check out http://www.gbntv.org/Comment

Cool... I've played coach mode in the past a little but have never used auto pass.Default AA with auto pass coach mode is gaming heaven on NCAA 14 (to me)! Re: Straight up default
Having been from Europe, I only got the game last Friday and was able to play only 2 games so far.
Since I fear Heisman would be too difficult, I prefer AA just as I did in NCAA13.I think default AA on normal, 50 threshold looks fine so far.
Beat Texas A&M with Navy 17-12 in Annapolis in my first game, other than final result the game stats and game play felt excellent, it was very hard for me to move the ball on them on offense while they kept moving the ball on me, in the end I was just able to hold them to 4 FGs and no TDs (Manziel was injured for most of the game). I scored 2 TDs myself (one of them game winning on the last drive) - overall one of the greatest games I played.
Second game was me as Washington State @ Oregon at Autzen Stadium, first two quarters I messed with sliders a little bit (see below) and we were 20-20 at halftime. Second half I went back to default AA, threw a pick-six on my first possesion and in less than 5 mins fell back to 20-37 but was able to recover in the 4th, went ahead 41-40 with 1 min. to go but Oregon scored a game winning TD (failed 2pt conv.) with 0:23 to go. Drove down the field in 12 seconds to Oregon's 20-yard line and threw a pick with my last attempt. Final score 41-46.
I passed for about 500 yards on 30 for 50 passing, 3 TDs, 3 INTs, ran for about 100 yds; Oregon threw for about 200 on 18-26 passing but ran approx. 300 yards on me, their option was really good - and this with backup QB (79 OVR) while Mariota was injured in second half.
My only headscretcher is QB ACC - I struggle, but CPU is a bit too accurate in my opinion. Not sure what to do about it.What I found out already in the demo, and tested in that WAST-OREG game, was that your pass blocking slider affects how tigt CPU corners are covering your WRs. On human pass blocking on 40, my WRs have been wide open, while on 60, CPU DBs sticked to my WRs like glue. Not sure if it works the other way, though - if my DBs cover better if I set CPUs pass blocking at 60 as opposed to default or 40 etc.
What I am thinking is, that if you decrease your pass blocking, CPU thinks it can get to your QB quicker thus leaving your WRs wide open, and vice versa - higher pass block results in tighter coverage because CPU thinks it would not get to you QB in time.Similarly, while playing the demo I thought lowering your rush defense slider will actually make your D against the run better, but to be honest, I did not noticed that in my WAST-OREG game.Overall, I am not a slider guy and would like to stick with default AA - if only I could get the CPU QB passing to an acceptable level...

When you say auto pass coach mode, are you actually picking coach mode or are you picking a side, snapping the ball, and then letting the CPU take over?Comment
