So I was wondering from you guys who have the game which do you guys like better and Which do you feel is more realistic? I am still on 13 and love it to death have 7 seasons in on my dynasty and love the recruiting aspect but I have heard some great stuff about 14, dynasty is what will make me want to make the switch so.

Personally, I loved the depth of the 2013 recruiting, and didn't mind the time it took up. 2014 is much more streamlined and much less deep, IMHO.Avid Supporter Of...

Re: Recruiting 2013 vs 2014
Depending on what you "love" about 13, you might not like 14 as much. They replaced the calls, topic pitches, and replaced it with a point system for the week. They also took away 5 weeks of off-season recruiting, including the in-home visits.
14's recruiting is a lot more streamlined and it doesn't take as long to recruit for the week. Scheduling campus visits are more sophisticated since when you schedule matters as well as who the recruit is visiting with.Comment

Re: Recruiting 2013 vs 2014
Though I wouldn't say either one is realistic I like the new system quite a bit more. I love how much less time it takes yet there is still some strategy involved. I am glad they removed the sway pitch option as I didn't think it was very realistic and it was a bit OP last year. If you are battling for a recruit you really have to match up well with their interests or you will get killed by the bonus points which I like. I also think the visit system is better this year now that when you schedule matters. It has a bit of risk reward to it.Comment

Re: Recruiting 2013 vs 2014
Previous ncaas forced us to stay engaged with recruits in order to land them which I guess makes it more realistic. 14 you just find someone who likes your skool or is completely being ignored by every team (too many of these players) and throw points at them. After the first few weeks where you're adjusting your board recruiting literally takes less than a minute to do. You're not recruiting players your just checking up on them every once in a while to see if the points you're allocating are adequate.
Very noob friendly. Never minded the more time consuming system, I thought most game devs strived for more depth and time consuming gameplay. EA must represent the counter cultureOS Red Zone

Re: Recruiting 2013 vs 2014
They are basically same thing 2013 has the illusion of being deeper,2014 is streamline and faster and does not pretend it is deeper.Question is illusion of talking to kids personally worth the hours that streamline and actually playing more of the game. For me the answer No i loving being able spend to two or 3 mins a week,Now the they are two things i would like see is using your school assets in recruiting which the old system did way better and so how finding a way to add promises.Comment

I liked 13 a lot more. 14 IMO is geared to the casual player. I liked calling as well as being able to knock off points from other schools interested in your recruits. Really fun when playing with a couple friends in a dynasty. Now I just move points back and forth not to mention huge point swings mid seasonComment

Re: Recruiting 2013 vs 2014
Call me a casual but 13th recruiting system was absolutely ridiculous and boring. I don't have time to phone call fake high school kids who I want to play for me. All I want to do is select them, give them an easy point value and hope they sign. I'm not a head coach, I ain't got time for that. I should be paid at least $1.5 Million for this travesty.
I prefer 13's recruiting style. It felt more personal (if randomly generated players can even be personal.) I really prefer 13 in general, if I could only find a way around the dreaded DB glitch!Cup or Bust (NHL 13)

And I'm not saying 13's recruiting was deep or strategic. I thought it was a poorly done representation of recruiting just like I think 14's is. But on just a focus level, 14's recruiting is a step back.Comment

Re: Recruiting 2013 vs 2014
I don't like that the CPU recruiting strategy is to throw their top amount of points at the top players on their list and completely ignore the rest of the recruits on their list so while I try and spread out points between about 15 recruits I find out every single CPU team has 500 sometimes 600 (depending on skill tree) points on their top 10 players and nothing else!
Lets be realistic EA thatsComment

Re: Recruiting 2013 vs 2014
I kind of wish there was a combination of the 2. In the pre-season and post-season have it really in-depth like 13 and during the season have it more streamlined so you can focus on the games.
I think something like that would be much more realistic of what happens in real life. Teams get a lot of recruits before and after the season, not many during. In 13, it seemed like I was more invested into the recruit and when he chose another school it was frustrating. In 14, I don't get that same vibe.
My biggest gripe about the new recruiting is the offseason. Having it one and done is really annoying. You don't know where to put your points and you can't make adjustments if a recruit is leaning towards another school.Comment
