Re: SEC, Pac-12, Big Ten Won't License Trademarks in Future Video Games
I hear you, but there may be a silver lining...after NFL2k went away, then College Hoops went away, I thought I'd be done with gaming forever. But I sort of re-discovered other genres of games I'd been ignoring for years, and well, fast-forward to today, I basically don't play any sports games with any consistency any more. Sort of a sad silver lining, really....but success (read: profitability) has killed sports games in a way.Comment

If things carry on as they are though, Console sports gaming is going to be nothing but FIFA, Madden, NBA2k and MLB: The Show, and that isn't likely to lead to innovation in the genre.I hear you, but there may be a silver lining...after NFL2k went away, then College Hoops went away, I thought I'd be done with gaming forever. Re: SEC, Pac-12, Big Ten Won't License Trademarks in Future Video Games
Ha, I guess I was thinking a little broader - as in, re-discovering totally non-sports genres like RPG's, adventure games, etc.
But I agree - sports gaming started a long, inexorable decline toward the dark ages the day the NFL went exclusive. That was the canary in the coal mine, so to speak - signified how big a business sports games were, and then everything that has followed since is just a signpost along the road downhill...Comment

Not going to argue, but I for one am not giving up hope for Sports gaming quite yet. It's getting pretty close though =/Ha, I guess I was thinking a little broader - as in, re-discovering totally non-sports genres like RPG's, adventure games, etc.

Re: SEC, Pac-12, Big Ten Won't License Trademarks in Future Video Games
Ditto....the one constant with my gaming has been the NCAA game. Everything else was just an aside.Same here basically. This series is the main reason I have owned consoles over the years. Without this game there is no reason for me to rush and get a ps4. I play Madden but not that much, I am not into it as much as this series. I may as well wait at least 12 months or longer after to launch to get a ps4 now. I have a good gaming pc, the money I would have put into buying a ps4 I can use for a new video card now.
I probably will end up getting a PS4 but with the way things are looking I won't be pre-ordering.
Thankfully I never got rid of my PS2 and all the NCAA games I have with it.Comment

Re: No SEC in Future College Football Video Games
I would normally agree with this sentiment, but in this case, I have to say it's bad karma coming back on EA Sports. They've knowingly put out a shoddy, half-working product for the past several years.
To the point where even a hardcore NCAA football fan like me hasn't bought or have returned the game now for last 2 years. I bought a PS3 mainly for this series, and IF it was up to par, I would be buying a XB1 or PS4 for it as well.
We the consumer aren't missing out on much with this series being canned.Comment

SEC, Pac-12, Big Ten Won't License Trademarks in Future Video Games
Owen Good posted a story stating only one school will be removed from next year's game and the SEC will in fact be in.
All of this according to a source of course. Said news would be confirmed by EA soon.Comment
