You mean the swat animation? I have yet to actually connect with that animation fully.....whenever I did connect with the ball it looked like I hit it with my pinky...

EDIT: got to listen to some of the audio and it kinda irks me that they use LeBron as an example for shot blocking.....I know he's the coverboy and he had some spectacular blocks but man...I play defensive center mostly and I would love it if they used Dwight, Ibaka and McGee as an example...

Im all for better gameplay and what not but lets honest, when was the last time the (offline) association mode had got taken a look at..I mean it has been the same for some years now and they don't even talk about it. Instead, they are more focus on my player (which IMO is the lamest mode in all 2k) and customizing wrist bands????? Im happy that they are improving the gameplay (which is by far the most important) but now im just getting tired of buying the same game now.

yeah, but only if the game doesn't give you a crappy pass animation out of the double team. seems like half the passes out of double teams get tipped because your player throws the ball right into one of the two defenders, even if there was plenty of room to make a different type of pass. i hope they improve passing out of double teams to make the pass animations smarter.

Good on them for letting a separate team work on the next-gen version.

LOL COME ON blues no way you can turn this into bad news. You dudes are a wicked tuff crowd. You KNOW passing speed was an issue OUTSIDE of pass selection. Can we just have a moment of celebration that now zones won't be as powerful because the ball movement will be there ? just a second ? LOL

Pass selection is a different issue altogether and yes the logic needs to be worked on but your yeah but only had me cracking up.

On top of that, hearing the sound of the hand-on-basketball contact during hard blocks would be nice, too.

You confirm that passing speed has been improved Czar? Because that's another thing that I feel I read every year and I thought it took a step back this year from 2K12 after the patch.

I don't have a big problem with the passing or passing speed on 2k13. My issue is that the 1) defenders recover to fast, 2) when they close out they are able to stop momentum and prevent a drive, 3) defenders foul shooters on most of there perimeter shot attempts and the fouls almost never get called.

If they called fouls when a defender is running full speed and jumps into a shooter, that in itself would kill the 1-3-1/ double team and recover cheese that plagues 2k13.

Not everyone in the league can pass, and passing is a talent that has never been fairly respected in 2k. We all know that if you have a team full of players that can pass, then you have a rare collection of players that will win alot of games.

I concur! Great points, but pass speed was most definitely an issue as well IMO. Combine fixing all the issues you stated and I'd be ecstatic!

haha...true, true. it's just that vannwolfhawk's post reminded me about the annoying pass selection specifically out of double teams...regular passes are pretty good, but for some reason, passing out of double teams results in some weird pass selection. it was just fresh in my mind because i played a game yesterday where i had like 3 B.S. turnovers due to bad pass animations out of double teams. i guess the frustration was still fresh and i let it get the best of me...haha.

the pass animation selection is just as important as the speed - if the game doesn't give you a good contextual pass animation and it gets tipped, then the speed ain't gonna help much...all it means is the defender's head is gonna hurt a little more when your player throws the ball right into it. alright, i'm done with my "yeah but only..." haha.

let me end on a positive note...i am DEFINITELY happy about the increased pass speed. thank you 2k. this should make the passing game more enjoyable this year.

You know what would be sweet? If the crowd reacted to dribble moves that got around a defender and ankle breakers.

Oracle is known for that. Would really jack up the excitement as a play develops.

Yes I am. But let me point this out. How this happens where you hear each year they improve it but it could actually get worse is this.

Passing speed in the game actually consists of three parts. How long it takes for the ball to leave the passers hands, How long the ball is in flight, and how long the player takes to catch the ball.

An improvement in one area but not in the other two could end up with them saying it's improved which it was but not felt due to the other two area's.

This year the time it takes to get the ball out of the passers hands has been reduced with the result being passes happen faster. For me and some of the community guys I have talked to it was a noticeable difference.

Great points, IMO the passing speed made that situation even worse. Especially online. Slow passes and catches meant that even average recovery speeds would have been too effective. Let alone the superman speeds.

I talked with the defensive devs on that in depth we will have to see what the final result was.
