Re: Recruiting board assistance
When I forget to turn it off I have found the computer adds a bunch of players that you will have a hard time landing or players not worth recruiting. I leave all assistance off. I like to use the search feature to only look for players that I'm in their top 3. I can usually fill out a class by only doing that.Relax, it's just a video game! -

Re: Recruiting board assistance
If I'm not into a particular season or feel like taking a different job, I'll just let the CPU do whatever they want. However, I turn it off when I rebuild a program because they usually add recruits that are either terrible or players I don't really need.Comment

I use it when I am a coordinator. I let the computer recruit till I m a HC.I love John Fox press conferences.Comment

Ive never used it if i was actively recruiting to try and build a small program.
As a coordinator I'll fill out my board with about 11-15players. Split between offense and defense. Then if, say I was the OC, and we have 5,000 points to use I'll spend half on my guys and leave half for the cpu to recruit the others.

Re: Recruiting board assistance
You need to have your entire board filled at all times so it shouldn't matter.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Its not how I do it, but since they assign bonus points this yr it actually might not be a bad idea to add the guys you plan on going after, then just fill it with the second tier guys. It just looks too cluttered for me.

Re: Recruiting board assistance
It is never a disadvantage to fill it (this year) and is usually an advantage to fill it, especially early on. With the way bonus points work unless you're literally done recruiting you need to keep it full at all times.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

Re: Recruiting board assistance
In the third year of our Online Dynasty, I accepted the Offensive Coordinator position at Alabama. When I went into the offseason recruiting menu, I was very disappointed. They already had a fullback commit, but were still recruiting two more fullbacks. They also had a cornerback that was scouted as a 47 overall and a linebacker that was a 54. With only the one week to try to sign some recruits, I eliminated well over half of their targets. I was able to sign only two respectable recruits, along with a bunch of garbage players.
In the first week of the next season, I already have an 80 overall commit and a 78 overall, and I am only recruiting one player who is rated under a 74, only to fill a need.
I would strongly recommend not letting the computer attempt to do any recruiting for you if you are looking to have a decent recruiting class.NCAA- Iowa Hawkeyes
NFL- Minnesota Vikings
NHL- Chicago Blackhawks
MLB- Minnesota Twins
NBA- Chicago Bulls
NASCAR- Clint Bowyer
PGA- Rory McIlroyComment

Re: Recruiting board assistance
I've never used CPU assistance since I tried it once in like 11 or something.
I used it one week, and the CPU decided to remove a bunch of recruits that I was going after hard in favor of some **** 2*s.
So I refuse to let the CPU muck up my boards ever since then.Comment

Re: Recruiting board assistance
Yeah, I noticed this in my first year of recruiting.
In the past, I would fill my board initially, but only recruit 12-15 players. Then, as I fell out of the race for a particular recruit (or he committed), I would cut ties with him and replace him with one of the extra recruits on my board that I haven't touched yet(who was still interested in me), but I wouldn't re-fill my recruiting board until I had extra points to spend.
This year, I keep replenishing my board. I have noticed some recruits on my board that I wanted, but didn't have the points to recruit, had actually kept me high on they lists because of bonus points. It made it much easier to jump right into the recruiting battle.
