Bring on Next-Gen
I am through with this madden 25 on xbox 360.. Same old game and it just got 6.0 on gamespot + user score is 5.8. After playing CFM, this game is one of the worst maddens I have ever played. Bring on next-gen, hopefully they work on it and add alot more to the presentation and gameplay. Plus, xbox finally supports blu ray and now EA can add way more things to the game. WAY MORE blue ray discs are 50 gb dual layer. 50 GB!! compare that to 8.5 gb for xbox 360 games.Last edited by NATINO; 08-30-2013, 03:19 PM.Tags: None -
Re: Bring on Next-Gen
I said it before and I'll say it again; I hope that them phoning this one in means that they're putting their full effort into next-gen.Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning! -
Re: Bring on Next-Gen
More space to do things is always a good thing BUT other sports games hell even some games under EAsports had the same amount of space to make there games and they are light years ahead of madden on current gen, so Im still not sold on next gen Madden being great just becuase of a more powerful system.Comment

Re: Bring on Next-Gen
Madden had to by exclusive rights just so they could keep their sales up because their sub par games were being outperformed. EA sports has had this entire generation to make a stellar game , ad all that's put out is glossy looks and pitiful gameplay and presentation. Most of all is the continual unforgiving glitches year after year after year. What makes anyone think that with this current company running it that another generation will be any better. Just more expensive to see the same game with even more glitchy additions.Roll Tide Roll

Re: Bring on Next-Gen
Madden is easily the laziest team and least ambitious title out of all EA Sports sports games! They better not pull the crap next-gen starting with Madden 15 (going to let them slide on their first next-gen effort! Hopefully they surprise me but I highly doubt it.) With the power of the next-gen consoles and this Ignite Engine they should be able to easily implement ideas from their other games into Madden. NO MORE EXCUSES MADDEN!!Comment

Re: Bring on Next-Gen
Yeah...I still cant believe 2k missed out on the current gen opportunity. Imagine how good of a game we'd have!! Smh...I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment

Re: Bring on Next-Gen
Considering that Tiburon seems to make no apologies about prioritizing development time on what the media and casuals care about most in a football video game, I have no idea what to expect from next gen Madden. On the one hand Cam Weber touted "the trenches", having the Mike identified by the adjusting AI and such but on the other hand, this series has been marred with superficial mediocre implementation.
I have watched M25 current gen game play on Youtube and I just kept thinking to myself how much wasted potential the game has. Meaning if the powers that be at Tiburon weren't so seemingly heck bent on a cut throat cost benefit analysis, Madden could be an awesome football video game with depth. If this same philosophy carries over into next-gen, I don't see how Madden can be anything but more of the same.
There are already rumblings and groundwork being laid to blame this being the first Madden on new consoles for a lack of depth. I guess when EA kept touting "being better prepared" for the new consoles they just meant it not being bare bones feature wise, like Madden 06. So M25 on new consoles will have everything it does on current consoles, likely including the legacy issues but with enhanced graphics, living sidelines, smoother player movement and smarter AI. Personally, from what I have seen of M25 on the current consoles so far, that would be a big disappointment.
That said, if you are going to buy M25 and plan to get a next-gen console, it does make the most sense to get the more upgraded of the two.Comment

I don't understand why so many people are assuming that the next gen madden is going to be so great.Comment

Re: Bring on Next-Gen
I think my biggest mistake was reading this site before buying the game because everyone dogs it on here. Yes, it could be a lot better and there are some glitches and bugs that make it frustrating (the only problem I had was my game froze during loading once. But, that just reminded me to save before every game).
Anyway, I have played a few games and enjoyed them all. I played a playoff game in my CFM as the Eagles against the Giants, was up 10-7 at halftime before failing to stop Eli Manning in the second half and eventually falling 31-20. It felt very realistic and enjoyable. I then did the offseason and played week one against Dallas the following year and won 17-10 in another game that was really fun and realistic.
Sure, it's got problems. But, I know I'm not buying a next-gen system until the bugs get ironed out of the first and second generations. So, I might as well enjoy what I've got.
Also, anyone who thinks that Madden 25 on the PS4/Xbox1 is going to be good has short-term memory. Remember Madden 2006? What makes you think that EA, a company that by your own admission hasn't figured out current gen for 8 years, will figure it out in the first year of next gen?Comment

Re: Bring on Next-Gen
I have no faith that Madden Next gen will be much different other than graphics. The sad thing is back in 2006 we would have killed for a Madden 06 for the 360 that played as good as Madden 06 for the Xbox but with better graphics. Heck, that is what I got from NBA2k when they ported over from Xbox to 360.
Sadly, the gameplay for Madden NExt Gen will likely be the same now....which is exactly what we don't really want since the current generation of Madden has not been that strong in this department.
Also....regarding presentation....why would anyone think that will get better when everything we ask for in this department could have been done with current hardware and arguably was done by 2k5 on the last generation of hardware.
I want to believe it will be better....but their track record speaks for itself. I think at best it will be this generation of Madden quality on a better system. At least the first year.Comment

Re: Bring on Next-Gen
I would be fooling myself if I allowed the notion that Madden on Xbox One would be anything but average.
After playing the game literally three times with season ticket, I knew I would be totally skipping the 360 version. EA totally revamped Madden 12 and called it 25. I won't get on here a totally bash the game, I just hope Madden Next Gen will be playable.
We're close to Next Gen release and no significant game play footage to go on really worries me.Florida State Seminoles
