I mentioned this in a thread a little over a month ago and someone posted that they didn't believe anybody would pay $400 to play one game.I'm not trying to belittle the thought because I know where you're coming from.Many adults and I'm sure posters on this site don't have the time anymore to play much else but a sports game or two.That was the point I was trying to make then.

I would have to say it isn't worth it until proven otherwise.I would wait for more info and videos if you're dependent upon this years game for the purchase of a $400 system.I'd wait until next year myself then unless we're pleasantly surprised.I've been skeptical of EA,to say the least,at this point.

you are right i have seen some of the videos but they were just trailers and they can make anything look good. yes i only do play madden and if the game was great i wouldn't mind paying the 400 but then again i don't wanna pay for it sell my ps3 get the game and have it not be good. plus they seem to be sold out every where.

I would wait for the reviews. It is very interesting that game stop actually has a deal that will allow you to trade in your current gen Madden and get the next gen for only 10.00. Wait and see. You may want to wait until they get the kinks ironed out of the hardware as well.

I'd have a tough time justifying buying a system just for one game. Especially a sports game making its next-gen debut on a new system (because history has shown that, when dealing with yearly releases like sports games, the first one on a new system is usually half-baked and messy).

When the system launches, I might have a slight itch to see what the next-gen Madden is like. But I'll read reviews from Madden fans who complain endlessly about stuff that's missing or broken, and that itch will go away quickly.

Then, around February or March, I'll probably feel the itch again. Baseball season will be around the corner, and "The Show" will probably look really great, and be very tempting. But I think that'll fade too.

Honestly, it probably won't be until fall of 2014 (or early 2015 when the 2nd MLB The Show title comes out) that I'll finally break down and buy the new system.

It's hard to go next-gen solely for sports games that will likely be fairly bad for the first year. Might be a different story if there was a Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption (or something that's a must-buy for me) developed for the next-gen system and timed to come out soon.

In my own personal opinion.

Absolutely not b

1) the game was developed for the PS3, and catered for the biggest buying audience which purchases the game within the first 2 months of release. Most people will have already bought Madden by the time PS4 drops. So why develop for that system? Instead they will adjust the game for the ps4. Kinda like taking a 2D movie and converting it to 3D. Yeah it works, but its not the same thing.

Anyone that remembers the first Ps3 game, when it came out. Total disaster horribly glitchy.
Worst game yet.

That, and the current system for which the game was released is glitchy as hell!

We don't know yet. If it's just like the current gen but with better graphics... then meh, not interested.

I'll wait for the reviews before deciding.

Ive seen this question asked before on the MLB the Show forum. Is the Show worth the purchase of a PS3. Surprisingly a lot of people said yes. Now Madden is no where close to being as solid of a game as the Show but I think a lot of people are just hoping that it will be better on next Gen and are willing to pay if so. Its going to be a hard and costly decision for lots of people and with EA you cant believe the hype so unfortunately you have to take the plunge for yourself.

I pre ordered a PS4 just so I could play Madden 25 on it. I am playing the PS3 digital download version just to hold me over. The PS3 version is just a warm up for me.
