Re: Can you turn off retirements
That is definitely excessive. I could see Peyton and possibly Brady retiring within the next 3 years, but the rest are far fetched. Even if they drop off in play I bet they won't retire right away. They'll try to stick it out for longer.
I hope a patch fixes this somehow but I highly doubt it. Part of me feels like they just have a set amount of years a player plays in the league before retiring (like let's say all QBs retire after being in the league 13 years or something) with no regards to actual skill level.
Very disappointing. It makes me want to lower the age level of all the top tier QBs to ensure they play longerComment

Re: Can you turn off retirements
I'm in 2016 in my CFM and Rodgers, Ryan and Eli are still playing. It's not "hardcoded" in, and in any CFM iv'e played, I haven't seen Eli or Matt Ryan retire yet..
Yet another overreaction over a 1 or 2 time occurrence in the game. So over the Madden section on this site. I probably won't be returning. You guys enjoy the constant whining and complaining.Comment

Re: Can you turn off retirements
Well when I paid $60 for a game that has more bugs than any game I have ever played in my life, I am absolutely going to complain. In it's current state, madden 25 is worse than 13.
And for the record, I have heard this issue on multiple occasions, not just from the OPComment

Re: Can you turn off retirements
Several of those players the OP mentioned shouldn't have retired that soon.I personally would like to have the chance to get Peyton Favre's passing records(td and yards)before he retired. He'll likely play that long, through the 2015 season himself. So likely all of them will be around through then. Some people have had players just disappear from their franchise ,like Stafford, which is something that was complained about last year.
Too bad you can't do like in '12 and change players to punters and put them to 99 kick power and accuracy. That leads me to saying that for many people '12 is still the better game for them. It's more stable and less bug ridden and gives you a more realistic franchise and more options at your disposal in that regard. You just have to figure out what your priorities are.Last edited by gr18; 09-01-2013, 09:21 PM.Comment

Re: Can you turn off retirements
It always seem that Brady retires after the first year and Peyton the next year even though Brady is about 1-2 years younger, and barring any injuries the length of their contract should have some play as to how long a player will play until the contract is close to ending.Comment

Re: Can you turn off retirements
Not relevant to the conversation, at all. You're backtracking because you jumped on to a "bug" that wasn't a bug and now feel the need to justify your complaint.
It's literally ruined the football forums. I am confident a large portion of them haven't even played the game and are just parroting what others have said. The post you quoted is a perfect example.Comment

Re: Can you turn off retirements
I just bought the game 4 hours ago. I usually play games for at least 4-5 hour after I get them but Madden 25 has been disappointing so far. Only thing I am enjoying right now it MUT. Played online and every game I've played has been hella laggy. They need better servers and we wont get that from EA since next gen is out in a couple of weeks. Owner mode isn't as fun as I thought it would be. I'm going to give it a couple of days or until a patch comes in because the warping tackles are a piss off. There are a ton of bugs they need to fix.Not relevant to the conversation, at all. Yep, Brady always retires early, then comes back. Wish he'd just stay with the Pats.It always seem that Brady retires after the first year and Peyton the next year even though Brady is about 1-2 years younger, and barring any injuries the length of their contract should have some play as to how long a player will play until the contract is close to ending.Comment
