Playing a Game? Check your Sliders!

Just an FYI... check your sliders before your games. I am playing default All-Madden and my sliders have been set accordingly. My profile is saved with my slider settings.

I've noticed recently that my sliders are adjusting themselves back to Rookie (75 user and 25 CPU) before my games. The strange thing is the skill level reads All Madden, but the sliders are set to Rookie level.

Resetting the All-Madden skill slider will resolve the issue.

Just wanted to raise some awareness on this issue, so that community members are not mistakenly playing their games on the Rookie level.

Thanks SEC! Are you releasing a Madden set this year? I always enjoy your research.

Most likely not. I tinkered around with the sliders this year and I found that the game actually plays worse with slider adjustments. I am really locked into default All-Madden.

I think I am going to move away from sliders in the future and concentrate more on the player ratings to provide a solution to game play issues.

I think player ratings have the most impact on the game play, and Donnie Moore's ratings are ridiculous. I have no idea where he comes up with some of these numbers. You don't have to look further than the player ratings to see why Madden game play is so arcade like.

Anyway, I've started my FBG ratings roster project. The game play with the FBG ratings implemented is outstanding!

Good to hear SEC. Definitely agree that the ratings are skewed. I'm on XBOX so I'm not able to check out your adjusted ratings set. I'm trying to find a balance in coach mode this year with settings and I always enjoyed your set because they were equal base. Take care and have fun with Madden this year!

couldn't agree more! mostly bc of the penalty slider adjustments. effect so much gameplay wise.

thats why i stick to a default scale when making slider adjustments.

Are us playing User 25 CPU 50? or are you resetting sliders as well to even 50?

No, I haven't touched the skill sliders. Default All-Madden which is 25-50....

I'm with you on letting roster edits do what sliders can't. Also, I've been trying to play on default All-Madden. My only problem is the crazy CPU blocking by WRs. Seems like they pancake their guy off the jump and are on their way to blocking someone else if possible. So every play they get 1-2 guys taken out by each WR on the field.

How are you containing the CPU run game?

Yep i dont know how you guys can over see these things. Tweaking sliders is a pain but these issues are impossible to miss for me.

Yep! Couldn't agree more! I'm still doing slider because it has helped for now and most won't mess with re rating players. Im in an online CFM too so we need sliders. I can't wait for the 360 version of the fBG rosters to come out. Some guys are working on them. It's amazing how good default is with different ratings.

Donnie Moore dropped the ball again with the WR blocking ratings. Even in M13, default rosters had WR's with 50-60+ IBK and RBK while the draft classes had most WR's around 20-30 IBK and RBK.

This wasn't a big problem in M13, but in M25 they also dropped the BSH ratings on all defensive backs.

I bet if we dropped WR's universally to a 10-50 scale on blocking ratings that we would see more realistic second level blocking and blocks on the outside.

For now, I've had to use other means to address the problem (penalty sliders).

I guess I'll ask this here also..

Quick question..... Ok, so I am playing in offline CCM, and have all my penalties set in league settings. 3 in particular are...

                          False Start > 30
                          Roughing Passer > 40
                          Roughing Kicker > 20

They are saved that way. When I go into game, and pause to check settings, those three are showing as....

                          False Start > 29
                          Roughing Passer > 39
                          Roughing Kicker > 19

doesn't matter if I quit and go back to league settings. They still show what they should. Re save..go back to game, and they are all off by a point again.

Is this a known bug? And is there a fix?

i am seeing this same issue, but it seems very random. I just fix them in game if for some reason they are not right. for me it is happening in offline franchise mode. Not sure what the deal is yet.
