Playing as "Owner", ? about funds

Player Franchise as owner and I start with 10 million in funds. Is that money only for upgrading your stadium and things? It does not have anything to do with player salaries, correct? What about paying staff?

Also, does it screw up anything if you use you clear cap penalties option? I started my franchise with the original roster and obviously had to cut a bunch of players to get it down to 53 men. In doing so I now have a little over 2 million in penalties this year and 3 or 4 million in penalties next year. Not sure if I should clear the penalties or not.

The money you get as an owner takes care of all the things you were asking about, with the exception of the salaries. The part of the salary that owner money takes care of is bonus money. Also, that amount will possibly increase weekly, depending on the amount of revenue you collect and also dependent upon what types of upgrades you make with stadiums and whatnot.

Just pull up the revenue tab and it shows you your balance sheet, i.e. a list of income and expenses

I keep trying to play as the Rams.. I usually move them back to LA. I don't cut anyone. I trade the big salaries.. and the only big signing I do is Dez Bryant (in year 3), and I will go from positive 70 mil.. to negative 30.... The signing bonus was only 4 or 5 mil..

It's crazy.. I am missing something. I will have up to 70 mil in cap space but neg 30-40 funds... I thought going to LA would bring in more money.

you have to be careful when dealing with the Total Value of a players contract and also you have to make sure you have enough funds to sign everyone. Rookies you draft get signed automatically too. The signing bonus is is 4 million + every season you signed him up for. Its weird but probably true to life.

Pull up your revenue tab, that tells you where the money is going. My guess is that you are paying on the stadium lease and that takes a chunk out of your funds each week.

Also are you sure Dez's signing bonus was only 4 or 5 mil? When you signed him if you set bonus to 4 mil that means 4 mil each year, so if it was a 4 year deal his signing bonus was $16 mil. The sign player screen is absolutely horrible, could we at lest get a yearly break down of the cap hit?
