Sacks with 3-4 OLBs?

In years past, 3-4 OLBs in Madden never seemed to get sacks at a realistic level. I am starting an offline franchise and love the 3-4 scheme, but only want to do it if my OLBs will get realistic sack totals. Has anyone simmed/played enough to see how the sack totals are for 3-4 OLBs in Madden 25? Thanks!

Depends on your sliders. I user control Brian Orakpo 80% of the time and get 1 sack a game on average.

How many sacks do you consider realistic? I would love to go a game or two without a sack and then get 2 sacks the next game. 1 a game isnt unrealistic but hes never had a 16 sack season, so...

I've tweaked the sliders a bit but ended a season with Orakpo and Kerrigan each with 16 sacks. The next best was like 4 on the team. Get a good push up the middle and the backers will get sacks.

Look for high block shedding and high power move attributes in the pass rushing OLB. Backup OLB for Cleveland, Sheard, doesn't look like much but he is an unstoppable beast in pass rushing. 5 sacks in my last game with him. The guy just runs over TEs, FBs, and sometimes the RT. And I don't user the pass rushers. Can't speak to how his sim stats would be, however.

Sign Sergio Kindle, the guy is a beast OLB.
He is a 70 ovr or so because he has such low AWR and tackle, but that only matter if you sim. I move him around on the 49ers and I can always throw the tackle around.
It kinda seems like some players are coded pass rushers and some aren't, even though Kindle rush stats are far below Aldon Smith he his more effective in the game even when I switch sides.

Also mess around with how you use the right stick. Flicking it up or down, and doing 3 o'clock to 6 o'clock. Doing the 3-6/9-6 move I can toss the tackle or swim past him, with the flick down I can punch the tackle on his but, or up to spin and so on.

I'm rolling with Trent Cole in the 3-4 (played with him at DE in the 4-3) with my Birds and he is like 3rd in the league with 7 sacks through 6 games. Beasting!

I've had good success with pass rushing 3-4 OLBs when I blitz them using plays from the formation "3-4 Stack."

There's a chance that your defensive ends occupy the LT and RT, allowing your OLBs to blow past them on the outside and pressure or sack the QB.

This won't help if you sim games, but it helps when playing games.

Robert Mathis led the league in sacks with 19 in my first season, granted 3 of them was against my team. I drafted a rookie ROLB in the 2nd round, he has decent stats, but great speed and strength. He managed to get to the QB twice for sacks in the first pre season game.

I find simming to be often unrealistic. In my first season, Julius Peppers got 28 sacks. 28!

I love running the 3-4 too.
I run with the ravens for my cfm and t sizzle and doom are are getting sacks but what I like most is that they are getting pressure on the QB causing bad throws.
I send both guys as much as I can.
I don't control them because find it to easy to control d linemen.
Quick tip. If you are not getting pressure increase your roughing the passer slider to 55. You will get more calls but it's worth not seeing the QB sit in the pocket 10 seconds every play.

In my first season with the Dolphins I got 42 sacks with Cameron Wake (I simmed half of the season and played only 8 games but I didn't user control Wake at all). I was playing in a 4-3 scheme. Now I'm seriously contemplating switching to a 3-4 with Wake & Dion Jordan at OLB to stop Wake from getting unreal sack totals.
