    Crossplay for sports?

Call me crazy, but i seen crossplay is coming to "helldivers" which is for ps4, ps3, and ps vita.

Now cross play makes sense to previous generation consoles, like ps3 to ps4. But what makes more sense, is crossplay across current gen consoles.

I'm strictly an nba 2k fan, but i can see this being useful across all sports, or mmorpg's like diablo 3.

Imagine THAT type of bragging right. Console wars via specific games. Granted, nba 2k association needs a revamp, as does the actual online servers (i vaguely remember dreamcast via dialup handled only SLIGHTLY worse than now). But crossplay is the next step in gaming.

        here's a good example of crossplay. http://www.joystiq.com/2013/08/21/he...th-cross-play/

They are working on it for mainly shooters and rpg's i think, but sports would also benefit.

Not only does it allow a wider range of talent to face, but also a universal system of cooperation.

Imagine that, a world with less "fan boy" wars. (one can dream.)

"Inter-Console" play will never happen. Microsoft is so paranoid about Live that they'll never allow it.

Well, PSN+/XBLGold requires you to pay for online, I could imagine them actually adding a fee for cross-platform playing. I mean, depends on the new Microsoft CEO. Cause I know Sony was fine with cross platform online the last time I checked.

That would be amazing. I personally would love that. But I honestly doesn't think that's going to happen.

Even if it's just from ps3 to ps4, and even vita. That would be amazing. The reason why i think they wont do it consistently, is it gives less incentive for people to upgrade to ps4.

i would not consider ps3 to ps4 crossplay... it has to be a different company making the console like wii or xbox

                    I don't believe it's possible.

Quick question for anyone that knows. Can a PC user and a Mac user play together online in a retail mutual game?

I think the list is legit, I think Steam helps with the list, and same-company platform is also there. Big thing is cross-company-multiplayer, which COULD happen, but depends on COMPANY stance, Sony was open arms with them and Steam players, which I think CS:GO was originally going to feature PSN/Steam cross-multiplayer, but was scrapped due to different update schedules. And Steam and Sony have some partnership where players can sign in to Steam with their PSN accounts.

                      EDIT: What PSN/Steam does

any system sharing servers to enable gaps to play together (ps3 - ps4 or xbox to ps3) is considered crossplay. just because it's the same company, doesn't mean it isnt considered crossplay.

I don't know if it is gonna happen (I am sure it is technically possible) but I would definitely love crossplay between XBOX One and PS4 as I have friends which will purchase different platforms....

                              Cheers! ;-)
