Re: Armor & Swords Custom Slow Speed Simulation Style M25 Sliders
Sliders are not for everyone. I have no idea what your skills are in this game.
Keep trying other sets....make your own tweaks.
Just so everyone knows why I make sliders......I do it to throw it out to the community so you have a base.....and if after say 6-10 games your feeling them...and they are working for you.....awesome.
If you have a case like this (not picking on you so don't take offense) then...my only advice is try playing some more games...if your still not feeling it move on.
One thing I am not is a video game counselor. I am busy playing my games and having fun and just sharing my settings and talking about the game itself in the way of game stories and great moments.
To the quoted post......keep playing....if your still not getting what you want out of it....try a different set.
Good luck.
PS - I don't believe in the theory that roster updates dramatically effect gameplay (unless it is user edited roster). That is a placebo effect IMO.......it is over stated and unproven.
Purely coincidence IMO. I am sure if I plug these in with the latest roster update....my game will play fine.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 09-08-2013, 07:12 AM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Slow Speed Simulation Style M25 Sliders
Just finished my first season with the sliders in place... Great set Armor. Work really well. Sometimes I just flat out obliterate teams, sometimes it really is a struggle right down until the end. I may end up trying to tweak them to make it a bit more challenging, after a while anyway...
Took my Eagles to the Super Bowl and downed the Pats 34-22. Vick threw a couple boneheaded picks (shocker), but one was totally on me with a quick unintentional toss to the wrong WR.
Stats as follows:
Score: 34-22
Total O: 359- 385
Rushing: 157-40
Passing: 202-345
1st Downs: 14-14
TO's: 3-3
Penalties: 0-0 and 2-15
Possession: 37:08-22:52
Passing:
Vick-26-47, 228, 1 TD, 3 INT
Brady-23-52, 399, 1 TD, 2 INT
Rushing:
McCoy: 16-53 YDS
Brown: 8-22
Vick: 5-81 (one long read option run-- I will use it once or twice a game max. Gameflow spams the hell out of it with Chip Kelly's playbook)
Ridley:12-40
Receiving:
McCoy:9-87
Amendola: 7-112
J Avant: 5-27
Celek: 4-35
D Carrier: 3-42
Ballard: 3-45
Donald Jones: 3-20
Randy Moss: 3-49
Michael Jenkings: 3-116
Jackson: 2-25
I sacked Brady 10 times. The CPU QB awareness is not very good at all. In fact, it's trash. It's a shame Madden can't implement AI that can throw a ball into the ground at a receivers feet, like they're throwing it away, essentially. In fact, they never do that either. I suppose it has only come so far. But hopefully it's not that far off. You don't sack Tom Brady 10 times in the Super Bowl.
Also, sometimes CPU rushing isn't as dedicated as it should be. Ridley had a terrible game. However, Gore went off pretty good in the NFC championship game, so maybe it evens out. I think the CPU AI just automatically throws more if you're playing a team with an elite QB.
Also, one thing that irks the HELL out of me... I've got the disappearing player issue as well. I first noticed it late in games when DJax would come off the field and my backup WR's would just stay in the rest of a few games. But it was ridiculous in my Super Bowl. DJax and my rookie FS Earl Wolff are the worst offenders, but towards the end even Shady McCoy disappeared on me. It's really disappointing Madden has dropped such a flawed product and hasn't offered a patch yet.
FYI, I have Fatigue set to 60 and I think I previously had the CFM Auto Subs set to your originals, but reset them to 50 long ago. I adjusted the Main Menu ones. Any idea if there's a way to remedy this?
I updated fatigue to 55. It's just not working right with auto subs. With it at 55....it cures the disappearing player bug and gives enough effect to make strategic subs.
As far as the 10 sacks......that's Madden. There are quirks with this game that you must be willing to overlook if your going to play the game long term.
I want a better AI core....like everyone else. But it seems like we never got it...ever. Because AI for the CPU has always been weak in this series and is nowhere near the level of The Show or NBA2K11....or even the NHL series (another solid game IMO).
But.....the game this year is downright fun. I am having a hoot of a time in my virtual NFL universe and making the very best out of a smooth, fun and responsive game.
For Madden it has never been better. As well as NCAA (14) for that matter. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Slow Speed Simulation Style M25 Sliders
Armor, a bit off topic, but do you have sliders for NCAA 14? Since I am enjoying these I was wondering if I could replicate that experience in 14.Last edited by DELUS1ONAL; 09-08-2013, 11:10 AM.Comment

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Slow Speed Simulation Style M25 Sliders
I havent played yet with your sliders, or since the early release of e game for that matter.
If i can pull myself away from ncaa tonight, i want to start a cfm. I have your sliders entered, and saved as seperate files. My understanding is i have to import them to cfm?
Also with 15 min quarters, and your clock runoff, how long are games taking?
I play 8 min quarters in ncaa and thats about an hour and a half game."Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory."Comment

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Simulation Style M25 Sliders
Love the sliders, the only thing I am still having trouble with is auto subs. I followed your directions EXACTLY and it's still broken it seems. For example, in my most recent game, AP ran 36 times, Gerhart just 5. Is there any way to correct this or do I just have to run AP 400 times this season (lol).Comment

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Simulation Style M25 Sliders
I could be wrong, but doesn't AP have a really high stamina rating compared to other RBs? If so, that could be why.Love the sliders, the only thing I am still having trouble with is auto subs. Re: Armor & Swords Custom Simulation Style M25 Sliders
You are correct, it's somewhere around 97-98, so it surely plays a factor. Gerhart doesn't get many carries IRL due to this (except when AP was injured).
Are you noticing any problems with the sub set up Flamehead? Disappearing players, etc?Comment

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Simulation Style M25 Sliders
That could be the problem. Good point. Can anyone else add to this? Does it work correctly in CFM with other teams? On a side note, AP is ridiculous in the game. You literally need no passing game, lol. Now if my Brownies could figure this formula out IRL...Comment

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Simulation Style M25 Sliders
You know, I really haven't seen any issues with the sub set up as noted in the OP. I did have one occasion on a really long drive where my center came out for one play, but that is about it, and that was with fatigue at 60. For me personally, the sub and fatigue settings mentioned in this thread are the best I've seen so far.Comment

I also am very happy with my slightly tweaked penalty settings as well (only minor tweaks off of Armor's base), all things considered.
It just has to be understood that the game has some built-in issues that sliders can somewhat compensate for, but not fix.
--Pass interference is a LONG time legacy issue. I hate to be negative, but I harbor doubts that it will be fixed in the next gen as well.
--Auto-subs. These sliders address it well, but it's a problem that pretty much requires some manual substitutions for splitting carries as your team really would. I worry that if you adjust a player's fatigue rating, like Marshawn Lynch, down to tire him out sooner, it might badly skew his chances for an injury as well. Making fatigue adjustments to the entire league would be a taxing venture as well. I wouldn't count on EA to fix this for M25, but I may be wrong.
--Overpowered HUM running game. I can see it, and I keep tweaking a bit with run blocking. However I actually think there's a chance that EA nerfs the running game a little in a patch, as there's a precedent for doing so in either Madden 10 or 11.
It bears repeating that Armor's sliders are an excellent BASE set. Everyone has a unique way of playing the game, and play at different speeds, so adjust his sliders to taste and enjoy.GO 'HAWKS!

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Slow Speed Simulation Style M25 Sliders
Any way to get a more balanced running attack with the GameFlow use? I want to use Ridley and Vereen almost evenly, maybe at worst 60-40, but there's no way to sub using the GameFlow (which I use for the same reasons Armor made in the OP).
Is my only option to tweak the autosub so Ridley would come out more often/sooner?Comment

Your being to hard on yourself my friend!
Go into your play book for the first series and do your formation subs for Vereen.
Here is what I do when I play as the Giants in my online CFM. During my first drive I sub out Wilson for Brown in my big sets....If I am calling a play from the "I" before I call the play I go the "I" formation set I want Brown in and sub him in. He will remain in that formation the entire game. Little by little, play by play I add in strategic subs throught my formations.
So after you do that......he will show up if gameflow calls some runs from the sets you have Vereen in.
It's a pain in the neck.....but being we play with 15 minute quarters in this slider set....by the mid first quarter...your subs are set.
Amazing that NCAA has a formation subs menu in the dynasty hub....yet Madden does not....mindboggling.
If you not getting enough running plays out of gameflow.....then go to your playbook. It's ok to use your entire playbook instead of gameflow.
I like to use gameflow because it keeps the game moving at a good pace. But I don't always use it.....especially on offense. It's not perfect. Does it help balance out my games against the CPU? Yeah it does as it forces me to run plays out of my "comfort" zone and it does keep games more balanced in the long run.
I would say I gameflow 75% of my offensive calls (sometimes more if the the OC is calling a brilliant game) and defensively I actually have found myself using gameflow 90% of the time this year....for the Dolphins....my DC has been pretty solid.
When I am getting beat up good....I may go into the playbook and override the OC/DC as the head coach.
Just remember not to abuse your curls and slants or any money plays you know the CPU can't stop.....otherwise....whats the point.
This is the reality of Madden football against the CPU. Being able to call a sim like game goes a long way into finding enjoyment playing offline franchise against a weak AI.
Even last gen....I would use ask Madden for 90% of my play calls so I would not smoke the CPU every week.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 09-09-2013, 02:27 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Armor & Swords Custom Slow Speed Simulation Style M25 Sliders
Through 2 games of testing these, I have 2 words....too easy.
My first game I won 48-9, and my second I'm winning 40-0 early in the 4th quarter. I'm playing as the Browns in CFM, and I've played the Lions and Rams, so obviously they're not that much better than those 2 teams.
Just a note, I do not cheese the CPU, I use All Madden for everything.Last edited by xxDHAINESxx; 09-09-2013, 02:37 PM.Comment
