Umm... no. Just no. You are wrong.

The fact is this play calling system is broken and bugged in 2k13. In all modes.

Edit: Even if it is only in MyPlayer/Association mode bug - it still matters a lot precisely because MyPlayer mode is the most played mode - so I really don't understand you.

If 2k used data exclusively from 2k13, they screwed up.

@optik - there are many reasons to use play-calling from learning to allowing the ai to fully use its ability. What you point out is true but that is a failing of other aspects of the 2k experience and not the play-calling system.

Is there any news on 2K rewriting the player progession logic? Surely to god 2k knows about it, it's just plain broken.

After a few years in the league there's players wanting 5m+ a year that were the 13th man for their team...

I wish that in association, good players would be willing to come off the bench as a 6th man like Ginoboli, and Terry, and Crawford. This should be based on personality though, like Ray Allen wouldnt come off the bench for Boston but would for Miami. Also, players like Harrison Barnes should be willing to come off the bench to make a way for a player like Andre Igudola

You're right. And it is unfortunate for gamers like myself who only want to play offline.
I guess my biggest gripe with the focus with online modes is I sometimes feel the programmers skimp out on offline franchise modes/AI because they feel that if people want those things, 'just go online'.

(I'm not singling out 2K, that is more of a broad statement aimed at almost all the sports games developers out there).

Despite all my crying, I'm still considering buying 2K14 over NHL14.
While I'm a far bigger hockey than basketball fan, I love deep franchise and My Career modes and the EA series is sorely lacking in that department.
2K still has the crown in that department.
But VDusen04, I totally agree. I'd love a really, really deep My Career mode where there's even more off-court focus on your players career AND life.
I remember reading about a Japanese baseball game where you could get married and have children.
You even received fan praise if you decided to play on one of your kids birthday's.
That's pretty freakin' deep, haha. Not saying American sports games have to be that deep, but anything above and beyond what we've seen this far would be appreciated.

2K appears to be making decisions based off two things popularity/data and things that are broke. Crews has a season and playoff mode so hopefully this mode popularity drives say improvements to online stability. The next jump I think will be a connected my player association/ connected career. I wouldn't be suprised if this is on next gen eventually. Innovation on current gen is not happening beyond gameplay IMO.

I think the next gen bball games are going to bring in a new era of competition gaming. 2K gets to learn from all their online issues and hopefully write their code with that up front.

I wish they hadn't screwed with the control scheme from last year, but I'll reserve judgement until I get a hands-on of my own. I guess my concern is less about shooting vs dribbling, and more about my beloved bounce pass. Is there still a button modifier that allows a straight-up, plain jane bounce pass? If we've lost that again (after only 1 season) it's a bummer, it completely changes the game in my opinion. The other stuff sounds great, hope they fixed the playbooks this year.

The bounce pass is still in, that's been confirmed. And it's still LT+A.

A great NBA Live is what every NBA 2K fan should hope for. Competition is a great thing.

There is no shortage of threads with posts that detail the problems with Association. One can only hope 2K eventually gets the message.
