    Weird recruiting situation

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this:

I was recruiting a player and was leading by 500 points going into his visit at my school. I gained 1010 points on my visit and was putting in 700 points a week, and had a higher weekly bonus than the other school. I was sure that I had basically locked him up at that point, until i looked at his top schools list the next week. I had lost first place and fell by 700 points. It made no sense.

How does a team gain 2400 points in one week, especially a week that isn't their visit week?

Was the school that gained points locked out? If so, locksmith offers the potential for huge point swings.

no they were the number 2 team and he wasn't even locked up. Ive seen teams use the locksmith before but this one was crazy. like i mentioned in my other post they even had another 2000 point week after that to lock him up.

My theory is 'anything can happen' , as I too have experienced CPU teams getting unusual point gains when the math says that they shouldn't. I think the idea of the points you assign + bonus points being the only way to get weekly interest besides visits/scholarships isn't true. There has to be more complexity to it then that. It seems to me like there's something more to it that we just aren't seeing, maybe there's some randomization to it? I think we may have oversimplified recruiting in NCAA14. With this points system we thought recruiting would come down to math but the CPU teams seem to constantly break all the rules.

I just chalk it up to "real recruits change their mind for seemingly no reason in real life, too."

Only then I get sad, because this never seems to happen in my favor...

Exactly! Some how Florida kept gaining 130 points on me going week to week so with their bonus points they would have had to be adding 820 points a week? I didnt think you could go above 700 per recruit?

if they had more bonus points then you they would gain on you (if you were both putting forth the same amount of points)

Would be kind of fun if I saw that happen. I'd rationalize that the recruit met a hostess that he really liked.

I was up in bonus points and putting in 600 a week, my max, so there isnt a way i can see how they were gaining on me but they did.

                            The CPU cheats. period.

In my league as Duke. The CPU just gave USCe 1600 points... They closed the gap to 770 and have a visit this week. They were above the lock. So it wasn't a lock pick situation. I just accept that the CPU cheats to create a certain level of "difficulty" in recruiting.
