Really the part I'm most excited for is how different the teams and players felt from one another this time around. I could even tell the difference in class and strategy between the Red Bulls and Boca Juniors when I played them.

So far I'm enjoying the demo a lot, I was planning on waiting until it comes out for the PS4 but I might just break down and get for the 360. The players feel like they move with more weight and I like that.
I had Valdes get red carded on a sliding tackle while going after a loose ball, everytime I tried that in 13 I would never get carded.

I've seen the CPU get red carded on three different occasions in different videos I've watched. In 13 I NEVER saw the CPU pick up a red(console). Just tried to go back to 13 in order to compare and it felt almost silly. So far I'm enjoying the demo a lot, I was planning on waiting until it comes out for the PS4 but I might just break down and get for the 360. Re: FIFA 14 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)
Wow did this game blow me away. I absolutely hated FIFA 13 on console for so many reasons. Orion's sliders helped a crap ton but after a while I just couldn't do it any more. Anyway to me 14 feels like a whole new game. The pace of the game is fantastic. I was playing on Legendary all manual and holy crap did I get dominated. I didn't even have one shot attempt in the 3 games I played. The defense swarmed me every single time I touched the ball. It also doesn't help that I was playing on PS3 (don't have live gold on 360) and my passing was absolutely brutal. Honestly though I was just so in awe of the separation between teams and how different the game feels.
Another great thing is momentum. Finally, it seems to be correct. If I have the ball I can no longer stop on a dime and beat the defender because of it. The defender continues to stay with my player and play the ball, which makes it that much more difficult. During the games I also didn't get the feeling of the CPU cheating anymore. It wasn't the ridiculous and fake looking domination that I have had occur so many times. It all just felt natural and real.
The next time I flip on the demo I'm definitely going to knock down the level and adjust my passing so I can at least pass at a realistic rate. I tell ya what though, I was in no way expecting this game to be good. Especially with the new systems on the way. I was pleasantly shocked. With slider tweaks and some team tactics tweaks we could have a great soccer game this year. I hope the feeling I had playing the game today holds true though. When I play this game on Season Ticket in a couple weeks it will definitely be the deciding factor on purchasing this game. I went from not even thinking about getting this game to all of a sudden really liking it. In all my years of playing video games I have never had this much of a change in mind about a game.Last edited by bwiggy33; 09-10-2013, 06:31 PM.NHL-Minnesota Wild

I wasn't planning on upgrading from FIFA 13 to FIFA 14 until the PS4 came out.... but man after playing this demo, there is absolutely NO WAY I can play FIFA 13 again.
FIFA 14 will be a day one purchase.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

Just got done playing 4 games...I don't like it. The AI is still idiotic, players doing their stupid cutbacks and dribbles without anyone covering them. It looks good if you're using multi player but I will not be playing the computer. I'll wait for PS4 version.Comment

Re: FIFA 14 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)
Has anyone played Fifa 06 on ps2 xbox or gamecube?
Thats what i feel fifa 14 is like on ps3 360
basically the current gen swan song...
Its VERY evident that fifa caters to ONLINE play. its very much a "I want to do this NOW!" type of control.
I have to say that FIFA 14 is greatBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: FIFA 14 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions (360, PS3)
Having played 4 games, I must say I like what I'm seeing, although it's tough to make sound assessments with only 3 mins/half.
Difficulty: World Class
Sliders: Default
Game Speed: First 2 Normal / Second 2 Slow
Controller Settings: First 2 Default / Second 2 Full-Manual
THE GOOD
-Players definitely have more weight which makes handling feel more organic. In '13 I would often lose possession because I would anticipate my player moving a certain way because of momentum that was non-existent. It's not perfect here but it has a greater influence than it previously has.
-Dribbling and touches are directly influenced by said weight. One of my favorite moves is to sprint one direction and quickly cut back the opposite. Previously, with the AI's Ninja Dribble as soon as I cut back they were there to take possession but now the momentum makes a sharp change in the opposite direction harder to control so the ball gets knocked a little further away creating a little space, which is exactly what I'm looking for.
-I've noticed a difference in shooting, albeit not a very large one (again longer halves and more play time is needed). My first goal came with David Silva. I did my usual Body Feint into the box from the wing, moved to the near post, and fired to the far post. Where as in '13 the shot would by default fly low and into the corner, because of ball spin, body position, and the new shooting mechanics, my ball spun toward the near post which caused it to drop right in front of the keeper's hand and bounce into the far corner.
-At first glance it seems as though play varies between teams and players. My first 2 games I used Man City against Dortmund and Spurs and my style of play suited theirs as I was able to reasonably move the ball around the field and create shooting opportunities. My second 2 games were with Dortmund against PSG. In the first game PSG had me on my heels the whole game, playing a very fast offense and countering strongly, giving them the win 2 - 0. The 2nd game I adjusted to their style of play and drew 0 - 0 but I wasn't able to create any chances and they dominated possession (the first time that's happened to me in a looooooooooong time playing '13).
-Generally the AI did a much better job maintaining possession. With the exception of my 2 games against PSG I won the possession battle but my games with Man City saw me win it 59% - 41% which was a rarity for me in '13.
THE NOT-SO-GOOD
-Ninja Dribble still exists. While it's generally easier to move around defenders, if you put about 2 feet of distance between you and a defender you can see that as soon as you move in one direction, the defender's response is immediate and totally mirrors yours.
-The AI still plays with the Counter-Attacking mentality that it's famous for. As soon as they get possession, too often they rifle the ball up the field. That coupled with the fact that they're passing accuracy is near infallible by default means they almost always find an open man. This isn't too bad though as it can be rectified with sliders.
It's certainly worth mentioning that my first two games were easier than my 2nd two, which means that playing full-manual will be a greater challenge than it was in '13. I'll amend my observations as I get more games under my belt on the latter.XBL GT: The Kingpin187Comment

Agreed. I had no plans to get it till PS4, but thinking otherwise now. Been a preferred PES player for last few years, but this demo is great. Still need more fouls and I hope the next gen engine will increase those along with better build up by the CPU. The slower game speed and player weight is much improved over past versions along with a more organic feel. GTA5 may get my mind off it for a bit, but I got a feeling I may break down.Comment

Look I am not a huge soccer fan at all - my friend brought over FIFA 13 I think it was recently and we played it and I was enjoying it even though I hate soccer as a sport. It was a fun sports game....hearing these things about FIFA 14 is making me wish this download would finish fasterComment
