SkUnDy's Saturday Night Fever Heisman Sliders

    10/21/13

I recommend playing the game with the "zoomed" cam, not only does the game look better but both the run game and pass game are more challenging. I also recommend player lock on defense.

One way to make the read option more challenging is to make sure you have show playart turned off in the helpers. You can still see it when you use Rtrigger and the stick but its not automatically there so you have to remember where the read and pitch man are.

#1 Alabama beat me like a red headed SEC stepchild and I enjoyed every minute of it. I felt like I was playing Alabama and I didn't feel cheated, I had several opportunities to turn the game around but I failed. I, me, the user.

Alabama even not having AJ McCarron didn't help me at all. They ran when they wanted to and threw when they wanted to and as the score shows their Defense played Alabama D. I had a hard time moving the ball. It was raining and I actually felt like I was playing in the rain.

I was thinking along these same lines. I want a challenge. Your original sliders and Jarrod's are definitely challenging. But, like you said. I feel handcuffed as far as expanding my playcalling. I really dont have a problem winning most of my games. I just wasnt enjoying the game as much as I would like. So I did something very similar to this set. Basically default with minor tweaks to the AI to help give them a little boost. Finally having fun again!!!!

Re: SkUnDy's Saturday Night Fever Heisman Sliders

Exactly where I'm coming from Jah, I wasn't having fun with the game anymore. With this current setup I have fun even when I lose lol.

Like you, I wanted to go for a minimalist approach. My Real Deal set had a ton of slider tweaks but as we have both stated I felt restricted in what plays I could call offensively as some plays would just never work even when facing a favorable defense.

With this setup I've had success with every single play type but I've also had each play type stopped ice cold. Particularly I speak of screens, sweeps, swings, basically all non conventional play types. Like I said they can and do work but they aren't guaranteed. To me that is much better than just not being able to call them because I know that no matter what they won't work.

As of right now this set is as is until I get more feedback. My main area of concern is cpu run still a tad weak. I'm still having every team put up over 100yds on the ground against me though so its not too far off.

Also, I've only had one game where I've gone over 200 yds rushing and I avg over 40 rushes per game so thats nice considering playing with Real Deal I was always going over 200 ypg.

All in all I'm pleased with gameplay so far but I need more feedback.

Set em up and run em all you OS coaches

            Eagle,

If you are talking to me, yes this is the official set I am using. I started a new Ole Miss dynasty with it and am having a blast. I am currently 5-1 and ranked 18th. My only loss coming from #1 Bama. I barely beat Texas by 7 in a barn burner where both teams put up 500+ yds offensively. I also barely beat Auburn by 2 points. Next game against LSU is going to be a tough test.

Am having a lot of fun with the set. I do feel like I've abandoned a child or something though leaving Real Deal by the wayside lol

Only confirms what I have preached from day one; sliders are most effective at default.

I am only here to report the facts.

Re: SkUnDy's Saturday Night Fever Heisman Sliders

I'm on Xbox 360, slider sets should work on either console though, but then again I don't have a ps3 to test that so don't quote me.

As far as rosters go I personally use a modified version of the OS Community roster (first release) that I moved all coach substitution sliders to 75 on, I'll be glad to upload if anyone wants.

Rosters are a personal preference really, these weren't designed with any specific roster set in mind.

Re: SkUnDy's Saturday Night Fever Heisman Sliders

I've been messing around with the sliders ever since release day. Everytime I feel like my set is complete, I get used to them and dominate teams I shouldn't. I've been an NCAA Football player since the beginning of time so I have a lot of experience in "mastering" the game each year haha. I was thinking about using your Real Deal set starting tomorrow but I just noticed this set as well. I have concerns with this set because I have two Dynasties (OD 3rd year Penn State, and Offline with my created Liberty Flames, mid-60 overall) and i'm shredding defenses through the air and on the ground (75+ completion %, and around 8 ypc) with both teams and I'm using 5 QB acc and 30 rba. So I guess what I'm asking is if these are challenging, yet realistic. I notice not many statistics have been posted but I'm looking for a set that causes me to lose a game once in a while with close to realistic statistics. I want to be able to lose 5 or 6 games in a season with an FCS team and not blow 99 overall teams out by 40 points.

                        11Freeman11,

I was worried about QB completion % when I started this with QBA @ 50 but I can tell you that in 9 games I haven't once gone over 70% completion percentage which is odd b/c at 5 and with a lower rated QB I was consistently. The cpu has only had one really high % game as well, auburns qb had 83%, I was like wtf and immediately wanted to adjust but I left it and I haven't seen it anywhere near that high since.

Every game I've played has been challenging. I've only beat one team by more than 14 pts and that was Tex AM, really lackluster play calling by them and I was in serious clock control mode to keep their O off the field. I beat Auburn by 2 points and had a really tough 14pt comeback victory over LSU 35-31, if I hadn't of scored with :04 seconds left they would have won.

I'm going to test user RBA @ 40 and cpu RBA @ 90. User run game doesn't feel overpowered but I would still like it to be a bit weaker, I think its also my playstyle I like to run 40+ times a game. Even so Bama held me under 150yds on the ground. Cpu run game is good but I think it could be just a bit better that is why I'm gonna test bumping to 90.

I'll post some more stats tomorrow, doubt I'll play another game tonight.

Hopefully you have a fun game.

Idk if Arkansas had a stomach bug going around or what but this was the worst cpu performance I have ever seen. Granted Ark was 4-5 comin in but still. Their run game was solid, when they ran the ball, their rb went 12 for 99 yds (8.2ypc) but their pass game was abysmal to say the least, no td's and 2 int.

My completion % was high but I didn't throw the ball much and a lot of those passes were screens and dump offs. I had 3 sacks and they had 2. Their offense just couldn't stay on the field and they couldn't keep mine off. All in all a fun game to play.

Played this game with user RBA @ 40 and cpu RBA @ 90
