    TNK -NHL14 Realism Sliders

    Hey Guys,
I had a few PM requests from people asking if I was making my sliders again. Just wanted to post in here and let you know that I will be putting out my sliders for this years game in the next few days. This thread will be the place to look for them.

Here is a preliminary set to use for testing

    * NOTE - I use Custom Camera 3 which gives a good overhead view and allows you to identify passing lanes and see more of the ice

Yes if you want your hockey fix this year. There is no NHL 14 for the next gen. Have to wait till NHL 15.

So my issues after my first game with these is that the period is too long and shot accuracy needs to drop down by one. Its too easy to get into the offensive zone. So I think AI learning needs to go up. Also one timers are too easy and same with passing.

              These are very preliminary

I'd love for you to help with the set if you want - I have my first son due any time in the next couple weeks so I'm gonna try to get as many games as I can in before I end up at the hospital for a couple days.

If you can play some games and post recaps/thoughts with a boxscore from here that would help

Wasn't able to do a box score for this game but I lost 4 to 3 in a shootout. I was the Canucks at home vs Edmonton. They had 65 shots I had 50. I really think 12 min periods are too long. I suggest trying 8 to 10. Another issue was there was less cpu penalties then user. I think that is EA though.

I don't seem to get more than 40 shots from either team.....you must play serious run n gun hockey?.....I do a lot of dump and chase, cycle down low, setup in the zone, etc - which leads to lower shot totals. I don't just come down the ice helter skelter ripping shots.

I want to focus for now on things like game speed, acceleration, camera angle, shot speed, passing, etc. - to get the "feel" of the game nailed down and then tweak other facets of the game.

It's just been tough the past few days to get games in......I'm now on vacation though for a while til the baby comes and then afterwards so I should be able to get some games in (hopefully....lol)

berg - do me a favor and try game speed of 2 with acceleration at 0 and let me know what you think

Tried these out today with my WIP OHL rosters, and I must say, with a little tweaking these could easily be the best sliders I've ever played with.

Worth noting that I was also using custom AI for Belleville, which explains the low shot totals, as for powerplays I think that's still and EA issue rather than on our end. And finally I also didn't see a whole lotta rebounds coming off the goalie pads, which probably has a lot to do with the shot power, and also sometimes wrist shots from the point tended to die a bit too soon. Great job so far!
