if the browns/colts trade for Richardson happened in madden, how many would consider this fair or unfair. every now and again these moves do happen in real life. but I always see people saying this guy is untouchable and this team wouldn't trade him. would Richardson be on that list in the game world?

Yes he would, just because the Browns want to play the game unrealistically doesn't mean he should have been trade worthy. They threw their season away. -

If you tried that trade in Madden 25 (you're the Colts offering to the Browns) you would have to give Luck, your 2014 1st & 2015 1st and the CPU would probably still reject it. Trading for players is horribly broken again.Comment

Not really, trades were horribly TOO easy last year and it was extremely easy to just stock up draft picks year after year (not to mention still use the pick you traded if done right)....
This year it seems tougher, but there's an XP package you can buy as a coach that makes trades a little bit more easier.
What was involved in the trade of the game? Just saying Richardson went to the Colts and asking if it was fair isn't enough... what did the Colts have to give up?Comment

This topic is right in line with my perspective on other realistic aspects that would be nice to be possible in Madden, it's not only what happens but the context. After reading the ESPN article about the trade, it comes after the Colts have lost players for the entire season, including a key RB. If something like this were to happen in Madden within a proper RARE context then most gamers could easily embrace it and it would add immersion. Of course the issue in Madden and maybe even sports games in general, is the AI not being dynamic enough to provide the proper context for these type of things.Comment

I'm actually going to begin a franchise with them as an owner. I have sliders that I'm developing for coach mode, but I could post my stats of my franchise here...if that's ok? I would never do this as the Browns owner. They clearly have no leadership and a wrong direction. You have a bull of a running back, playing in horrendous weather. Worst mistake since the signing of Culpepper to my Dolphins!Comment

If I were the Colts in CFM, I wouldn't have allowed myself to make this trade due to how "unrealistic" it seems..
The other interesting thing is that there must not have been many teams willing to offer a 1st, While you can play anyone in playoffs, the Browns play the colts next season for sure(and again in 2017), and the Colts are generally regarded as a team on the rise, certainly not a lock for a top 10 pick..
While Richardson hasn't produced great numbers(lack of passing threat?), this is a poor value trade for the Browns unless the pick is top 10 in this QB heavy draft.
You can also make a case that this trade helps the Browns tank to improve their own 1st round pick..
Bottom line, bad for the franchise by any measure until Bridgewater wears a Browns jersey.Comment
