    Force field against defensive players?

I'm playing the Eagles and when I control my CB it's as if there is a force field pushing my player away from Jackson when I try to tackle.

Has anyone else been having force field problems?

I have noticed it a couple of times. Especially on outside runs or WR screens when the player is running at an angle towards the sideline; it seems as if the user controlled defender is forced into a "run him out of bounds" animation rather than a tackle animation.

I have also noticed it on runs up the gut a couple of times, but its much less frequent, and with the traffic already in the box it doesn't make but a yard or two difference.

Do you think it has something to do with the defenders awareness?

Don't know if it will help this problem but try turning Auto Strafe off. I find that it gets me more control over my player on defense.

Id go with any other explanation for that, other than a "Force Field". WoooWoooWooooWoooo and the E2 Scanners are picking up our plays, and the Clingons have landed, tackiling my runner in the open field. Come on guys, i can guarantee that if there some "Force Field" issue, all the Slider Gurus who bust their tails working to make this a better game, would have caught that issue already. Now if your stating that our user controlled Defensive player is bouncing off of the ball carrier all the time, then id say you have something there.

I've definitely noticed that the "Heat seeker" tackle option makes the dive tackle button less responsive. There have been many instances where my defender just runs alongside a ballcarrier without diving because the game thinks I want a wrap tackle. They need to move one of those to a different button.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

That absolutely makes sense to me too.

I use the hit stick and still make wrap tackles after diving at them sometimes. I use the hit stick to dive, otherwise I just strafe into the ball carrier and they will wrap up. If you use X they use the heatseeker.

Poster is correct, this is a known problem. There is a thread dedicated to this topic a few pages down where guys are trying to find the source of the problem; sliders, rosters, created player, ect. I dont know how or I would attach the link.
EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON. WE JUST DONT ALWAYS KNOW WHAT THE REASON IS.

No clue, but it wouldn't seem to be a rating/slider issue just by the eye test. It looks more like an animation issue..

Maybe like the problem they had a year or two ago with the game choosing an animation before it realizes that the players aren't really in position to execute, so it warped the players into position just so the animation could play out.
