After playing Madden 13 for so long and on all-pro most of the time, I finally saw a post somewhere for sliders that allow the players to play. I can't remember this guy's name, but his philosophy was to set the "Player Interaction" sliders to Zero. That way, the Players' Ratings dictate what happens. This actually made a lot of sense to me, so I tried them out, and liked the "Real" feel that I got out of the game. Now, ultimately, not ALL sliders can be set to Zero, such as QB Acc, which if you set to Zero, you won't see ANY completions. So, I tweaked some things and came up with this set where you'll see all of the "Player Interaction" sliders are set to Zero. The other "Player Interaction" sliders that should be set to Zero (I have them at 1) are EVERY SINGLE Penalty Slider!! After reading some of the other slider posts about different Penalty Slider sets and people researching just what each penalty slider controls/affects as far as gameplay, I personally feel that if these sliders do affect gameplay to the point of player interactions, then there is no choice in the matter, they MUST be set to Zero. Now, you will see I have set them to 1. This is to allow for the possibility of penalties as setting them to Zero turns them OFF completely. This is not what I want. I want for there to be penalties called in the game, but after seeing just HOW these sliders not only affect penalties, but HOW they affect animations/player interactions, believe me, you'll prefer the way the game plays with these basically set to off. Now, the players PLAY, they are not hamstrung by these sliders controlling what they do on any given play. You will NOW see Star players making star plays. You will now see Dbacks breaking on the ball and diving to break up a pass. You will also see WRs leaping for big catches down the field. In my opinion, you will see real football. Aaron Rogers WILL carve you up. Adrian Peterson WILL run all over you. Tough Defenses like SF will stop you. If your Dline isn't too good, you will find it hard to stop the run and the pass with no pass rush. You will see plenty of unique one on one interactions all over the field as every player interaction is dictated by their ratings, and NOT the sliders. I also noticed that once I set these Penalty sliders to Zero or 1, the Overall Speed of the players feels right and there is less of a need for the sprint button. Now, players catch the ball and actually start running and turning up field instead of having that "stuck in the mud" animation. I think this is due to the lack of AI computer processing what should happen with all the sliders and you're seeing an old timey "suck-in" animation that we lived with for what? 20 some years with previous Maddens? haha
Anyways, I have had a lot of fun games with these ratings. Some high scoring affairs, and one game where the Packers D absolutely destroyed me (especially, Clay Mathews). Mostly close affairs against good teams, but you will blow out lesser than average teams especially if they have NO star players.
But, really, that's football. The teams with players dominate, the teams without, don't. Just ask the Jaguars or Browns these days.
