Reports are that Dan Enos, the Head Coach from Central Michigan University, has been fired. Coach Enos had a 13-24 record in three years of coaching in Mount Pleasant. It seems as though Athletic Director Dave Heeke wasn't happy with just 13 wins in 3 years. "We felt like we needed a change of culture here in Mount Pleasant from a football standpoint," AD Heeke said in a press conference.
Rumors are that the Offensive Coordinator from Grand Valley State University will assume the Head Coaching duties for the Chippewa's. Coach Nick Lincoln was not available for comments, but his high octane offense speaks for itself.
Last year the Lakers offense averaged 54.2 points per game and averaged a play every 24.5 seconds. This style of offense was perfected by Coach Lincoln's mentor Chip Kelly, but Coach Lincoln's offense has a few new wrinkles that Coach Kelly did not implement, such as a few Pistol packages that throw defenses off their guard.
Presumed starting Quarterback Cody Kater stated that, "It'll be fun playing in an offense like this! It will allow me to use my feet to keep defenses off guard like when I was playing High School football in Montague, and we won back to back state titles!"
Hopefully Coach Lincoln can continue this explosive offense at the Division 1 level and make this Central Michigan Chippewas team a must see for any college football fan!
