Re: Best drafted qb?
McCadden is my fave because he has a speed, arm, STAR, and no white sleeves.Originally posted by lotusfatherSo far the consensus is this guy:
#11 Garret McCadden
-6'3" 223-
Spoiler
82 Balanced
81 Pocket Passer
84 Strong Arm
82 West Coast
82 Mobile
Star - 1st - 88 SPD, 94 THP
But it is still up for debate because we haven't had a chance to look over all the QB's in all the classes.
Ryan Garrett, I just drafted #27 (projected 2nd round) and he came in as an 87 OVR (Pocket Passer) 96 THP, 20 years-old, STAR dev and no white sleeves. He's a story-line guy, had a bad season but was great at his pro-day.
I think Garrett is just about as good as J.Parks last with the right story line.Spike Diet -
Re: Best drafted qb?
Honestly Parks wasn't even one of the 5 best QB's last year, but I'm probably a bit of a franchise geek.
Throw power isn't all that important imo, and neither is accuracy. Essentially both of these ratings can be raised with minimal fuss/xp. Physical ratings cost a ton and they are only thing that differentiates the QB's after 2-3 seasons of progression.
Stacey Knight was by far the best in M13 because he has the best physical ratings (and THP/THA to boot). M25 seems to be more of this.Comment

Re: Best drafted qb?
My fav is kaine carter, he is a Colin kap clone, who is great scrambler. Draft analysis says he is more athletic than kap.
My first year with him, 82 rating, 3300 yards passing and 620 rushing. This in coach mode,no user play at all, while simming every other week.Comment

What do the attributes for Carter look like? Does he have white sleeve glitch?Spike DietComment

Re: Best drafted qb?
I was going to restart my franchise anyway, so I burned a pick on two QB's in the first round of the "Professor X" / Clifford Franklin draft (I think this was also the year after the Israel Starks draft, Starks chose baseball in the previous draft and then came back to football and entered this draft):
Macon Orender (#1 overall QB in the draft):
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 222 lbs
OVR: 78
SPD: 68
ACC: 67
AGI: 65
ELU: 66
CAR: 76
STR: 85
TRK: 55
THP: 98
DAC:82
MAC: 74
SAC: 76
PAC: 73
Throw-on-the-Run: 71
AWR: 72
INJ: 80
TGH: 77
STA: 80
PER: 94
IMPORTANCE: 59
Orender's highlights are his 98 THP, his 85 STR (same as Big Ben, I believe this stat may help shake off tacklers in the pocket). He's got subpar MAC and SAC, but his deep accuracy is at least borderline passable right away. An 80 INJ rating doesn't thrill me. 94 PER is nice if you don't have many other high PER options on your roster. He's definitely not a scrambler. Reminds me of a little bit of a less accurate Brock Osweiler clone.
Now this other QB I drafted in the 1st Round, he was the 2nd QB projected in the draft...and I drafted him solely because he had a small beard thing and his name was Drake, lol.
DRAKE PATTI
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 225
OVR: 82
SPD: 81
ACC: 81
AGI: 82
ELU: 77
CAR: 64
STR: 75
TRK: 56
THP: 90
DAC:72
MAC: 68
SAC: 92
PAC: 71
Throw-on-the-Run: 87
AWR: 71
INJ: 93
TGH: 78
STA: 82
PER: 81
IMPORTANCE: 3
Drake's highlights are his decent running stats (SPD/ACC/AGI/ELU) combined with his solid Throw-on-the-Run (87). Additionally, his high SAC (92) will provide a good baseline for a franchise QB to build upon. And he's not really too disappointing with 90 THP.
Could be a surprisingly decent scrambling QB. Not quite a "running" QB, but a decent scrambler if the play breaks down and he needs an emergency option.Comment

Re: Best drafted qb?
I'm kinda bummed about these draft classes. I like to build a team around a great QB and Madden 13 had several guys that fit the bill. There was Rockford Odom, who was as fast as Vick with a cannon arm. Daniel Romeo who was strong like an ox, like Mike Zazzali from HC'09. Also Boston and Stacey Knight (although I hated the fact they would never tuck the ball and instead run 50 yards carrying the ball like a loaf of bread) Then there were the great pocket QB's like Parks, Kane, Farris.
This year the only guy I like is McCadden! Part of the problem is all of the top QB's that I've seen besides McCadden, have glitched white sleeves. Call me picky but I won't use them, it bugs me way too much. Also there seems to be a lack of storyline hype that makes it that much more fun. I keep hoping that there's a class or two I have not come across yet that we provide better star QB's.Spike DietComment

Looking at some of the stuff posted already, I lost hope that there would be a real awesome QB. The drafts this year are disappointing.I'm kinda bummed about these draft classes. I ended up just making Price Schuyler my franchise QB. He was nothing special, he had a little speed to him and starts at Fast or Star. But by start of 3rd season I had his OVR at 97.
My other problem is that a lot of other positions seem real thin. WR's is real rare to find high SPD and high ACC. Lots of 96SP but 81 ACC guys. Akinwande has ended up being my best WR. Paris Battle, Miles Ali, and Mann have been decent guys to fill in the other spots.
There are good line man. Good DT. Decent Ends. Although speed rushers on the DE are not too often. OLB's starting higher than OVR 80 are almost non existent. Even MLB's haven't been too impressive. FS / SS are thin too. There are a ton of good CB's. I have switched positions for my CB's to FS and SS to avoid the the FS / SS draft issue.
Also way too many QB's starting at 78OVR to 83OVR. I'm in year 2022 and the last draft all the projected round 1 QB's were still around in round 3. No computer teams wanted a QB because everyone has an 80+ OVR QB. That was the Starks draft.
It has been disappointing, but I am still having fun playing the game.Comment

Re: Best drafted qb?
Israel Stark. The weird year where he goes into the nfl during the Nick Obregon draft. 92 Speed, and is the perfect mobile qb. I got him to 96ovr by the age of 25.Comment
