I really cant fault 2k for putting all of their resources into the next Gen release, with Live back they have to come strong out the gate, no demo is a let down but i can give them a pass.

Re: No Demo For NBA 2K14
the over reactions here are becoming mind boggling. Are they the same ones that say they've preordered Live based off a few screenshots?
I get the disappointment over no demo at all, but some of the overreactions are ridiculous. If a 5min demo was going to sway you one way or the other and you refuse to take the game's previous releases into account, maybe you need to be a smart consumer and hold off purchasing.Comment

yea that just shows some ppl make bad choices sometimesA smart consumer? Lol. 2k sells about 4-5 million copies of 2K Basketball every year, At this point, a Demo doesn't mean much for an established game. Live on the other hand, is a game that hasn't been out in 4 years, so they need to prove themselves. As far as this generation, 2K really doesn't have to.Comment

Re: No Demo For NBA 2K14
This was to be expected. I am going to buy the game only because it's cheaper to buy both current and next gen than buying next gen alone. You guys in the US, who won't get this offer, are mad if you buy current gen. After seeing the recent influx of 2k14 gameplay vids, I don't see a point in buying it since it looks so similar to last years game. If we as consumers are going to get the best basketball Sim games in the next generation, NBA live needs to step up big time.Comment

At the end of the day the demo doesn't matter. But communicating late like this is the equivalent to breaking your parents window and not saying anything about it till the last second.chuckcross.bandcamp.com

Re: No Demo For NBA 2K14
Agreed. I would have liked to play a demo of the game but its not the end of the world. It was annoying that they were blatantly dodging the question. I think most of us got the hint and were just waiting for them to say so.Last edited by infam0us; 09-24-2013, 11:14 PM.Comment

Re: No Demo For NBA 2K14
Exactly, the poor communication with the consumer is the worst part but this is how they've operated--they do whatever they want and we're always the last to know.Comment

Imo it would just be a waste of time for 2k to work on fixing players hair and other visual gripes for the current gen version. I would rather 2k spend more time focusing on nextgen for 2 main reasons. 1. I'd rather 2k take advantage of the new tech instead or f releasing a port of current gen. 2. I want 2k to be prepared for the next gen and it starts by having a good first outing to build on. Nba live and madden proved last gen that not being prepared for a new gen of consoles can really hurt your franchise.Steve said on twitter they didnt even bother fixing Bynums hair, they really didnt even work on his hair come on son, and then the 2k devs get mad when ppl call them lazy. They didnt even mention anything about mycareer cause its probably the same thing. And they removed some of the teams and Create a legend.. this is a downgrade from 2k13.Comment

To me it's a smart move to not have a demo for current gen, you don't need one, it's going to be a brilliant game on current gen, a demo wouldn't do it justice. It will be the best 2K yet.
However, no demo on next gen hurts, a ton of questions about next gen. I think they are in trouble. They seem behind to me overall. Seems like too big of an undertaking. To me this game won't be near as complete or polished as the current gen copy. So much so I'm strongly considering NBA Live 14 which was only made for next gen. I sold my PS3 and already paid for my PS4. If 2K is missing My Team especially or Crews like rumored I'm going to skip 2K this year and jump to Live.Preaching SIM & playing ARCADE ? C'mon son !Comment

My favorite mode was My Team last year eventhough it was broken with VC cheaters and players you couldn't add/drop. If that is missing on the PS4 copy I'm out.To me it's a smart move to not have a demo for current gen, you don't need one, it's going to be a brilliant game on current gen, a demo wouldn't do it justice. The fact is that current gen is going to sell WAY more than next gen simply because current consoles are in more homes. Thats why they are releasing a current gen version and hyping it up too. They would be loosing money if they didnt release a current gen version. If anything or would have made more economical sense to put more effort in the current gen version and not release a next gen version til next year but it sounds like these guys are excited about next gen.I don't know why 2K even bothered with 2K14 for the current gen. You knew this would happen. In the end it's all good I guess since it's 2K13.5.
You got a crowd that can't/won't/will be a xbox one immediately so you got to satisfy those. Meanwhile you are working on 2K14 for the next gen and that's supposed to be really good/different/better.
You should have hyped 2K14 for the next gen already, so people would get a xbox one/ps4 simply because of 2K14.Comment

. If people don't care about current gen why are they in threads discussing the current gen demo?
