That would be nice....although I figure that a patch to fix ongoing issues is a long shot.

Still, I'd be happy to pay a modest price for the addition.....EA should make it available. The NCAA has nothing to do with the playoff system.

Hard to say, I still believe college basketball games were highly profitable. They haven't made one of those in 5+ years.

At first I was disappointed to hear this. I had high hopes that the next gen game would give us a more life like game instead of the crap animations and movements we have now. Then I realized that a next gen system wasn't gonna make a difference and they would just put out another lackluster crap game on the new console as well. So now I can save myself the frustration of buying and playing a game that could have been excellent if it wasn't for laziness.

You would be wrong. 2k and EA both lost money on those games.

Yeah. Thats why 2k pulled out. The cost of the license was expensive and the game didnt make a profit.

It would be a really, ridiculous and foolish move to do so, though. I'd venture to say it would be a very poor decision as well.

For one, there is a "common use" clause that allows the media to broadcast and use player/team likenesses as a part of "news coverage." There's also a freedom of the press that would stand in the way of blocking any type of TV coverage of sporting events. Not to mention, I guarantee you EVERY SINGLE ATHLETE in the NCAA wants their games televised. There's not a single athlete out there that would refuse to have their games televised.

That kind of a lawsuit would be doomed from the start.

No more sticking heads in the sand; this game was done a long time ago. I was hoping for some sort of next gen game, but we all knew that this was coming one way or another. I would like the see the Bowl Bound series get an update; seems to me that text based games are the better games now-a-days (except for the Show, which could be facing pressure from EA in the future).

College Hoops 2K8 sold about 250,000 copies combined on PS3 and 360.

NCAA Basketball 10 sold about 500,000 copies combined on PS3 and 360.

Poor sales plus high licensing costs are the reasons neither game is made anymore.

Pretty crappy news although the last NCAA game I purchased was the '11 Edition. Maybe I'll have to pop it in and start working on some future rosters or get '14 and start from there. The only positive that I can think of that comes from this is perhaps now Madden will have no choice but to include editable draft classes that we can make ourselves.

While I am disappointed that the series looks like it won't be making another game for a while, there is still hope for it possibly returning someday. If the NCAA loses their lawsuit against O'Bannon & company, and are forced to start paying college athletes, I see them reaching out to EA to try and split the expense of paying the athletes and voila! We get college video games again. Really nobody knows how the O'Bannon vs. NCAA case is going to go down. After this announcement today, I'm kind of rooting for the courts to rule in favor of O'Bannon over the NCAA and paying athletes, just so we can see not only NCAA Football return, but potentially NCAA Basketball/Baseball. It's a long shot, but we'll see once O'Bannon vs. NCAA goes to court, no pun intended.
