Perhaps I'm cold, but I also think it's great that EA is being forced off of NCAA. I don't bear anyone ill-will by any stretch, but I'd love to see one of two things happen as a result of this hiatus: 1) someone else come in, re-imagine what a sim college football game could look and play like and deliver a better product, or 2) have EA revisit the series in a couple of years with new talent and a fresh approach.

Not having an NCAA game at all is obviously the most immediate outcome, but if we aren't getting one because there are legitimate legal issues with the way players' likenesses were used to market the game, then I'm okay not having a game until those legal issues are settled. I don't want to play a game that's potentially exploitative of individuals and is therefore legally and ethically questionable that bad; I'll play something else.

Life goes on for me, but when people lose jobs with families to support, that's the bad end of the deal for anyone in that situation.

Ha! Well, irony is one of life's genuine joys. I like that line because it's vapid, so it's not really a ringing endorsement for Mr. Kelly.

            lol, wut?

NCAA 14 sold what? Maybe a million copies combined between X360 and PS3. The game will never be rare enough or sought after enough to be worth anything to anyone.

Now, take for instance the prototype catridge to Legend of Zelda for NES. That thing had rarity and commanded attention, sold for a bit over $50k at an auction IIRC.

Anyway, my two cents on this... EA Sports should make the next 365 days a great experience for the NCAA fans they hold with such high regard.. release some patches that build upon the product. Give back to your gaming community by building on your latest and ultimately final release.

Through patches, + many more releases to the uniform store, this game can live on for a very long time, at least as long as current gen consoles are relevant. If EA abandons it completely (which I'm leaning to bet they will) then whatever.. their statement to the public was a waste of time and energy.

Thanks for the good times. I guess it's all over.

I said decent penny. I didnt say it would buy you a house. I just sold an old College hoops game for 50 bucks. It was decent.

I don't see them keeping up with patches in the extended future. From a business perspective, they don't stand to gain anything by developing anything that isn't paid-for DLC.

I picked up CH2K8 out of the $5 bin about 2-3 years ago. I sold it this past April for $45. That's what I can turning a profit.

Just check out CH2k8 on Ebay right now. Some sellers have them listed for $60-$85. I'd be willing to bet that that price is only going to increase, well as long as we don't have a CH game. You're certainly not going to get rich off of selling it, but it's nice to get a little extra $$$ for a new game or something every now and then.

This was bound to happen, the relationship between college athlete and college institution is full of exploitation , on both sides. I can see the argument from both sides, it's just sad to see the game end.

Then they should make a few patches. Improve pass coverage as much as possible, make the game more customizable (if possible). For me my dream in this game is to be able to use duplicate numbers. I know there are editors that do that but they haven't worked for me and EA should just create a patch so that we can edit numbers. There has to be a way to do it, you can do it with Teambuilder, some numbers are already duplicated in the game, we know it's possible. Sucks that it's gone but this was coming, NCAA has gotten away with too much for too long and eventually their greed would come back to get them. Goodbye to my favorite franchise.

NFL football needs to set up a minor league system. If you want to make $25K or $50K out of HS without going to 4 yrs of college, go to the minor leagues like baseball or the D-League like basketball.
Work for football or basketball cash? You mean like baseball, soccer, hockey, etc? Wha? They do that?

That sounds like a lot of work. What could possibly go wrong with handing out cold cash to folks?
