    England League 2 team?

Usually I start a career as Gillingham and bring them through the ranks. Not sure who to go with this year. Any suggestions or do any of the teams have a hot prospect to groom?

Colchester has a good set of strikers.

    Bradford a good defense.

I have used Preston north end before in 13 and they were fun.

Rotherham is cool and of course wolves are in there now.

Snap...I saw Gillingham and thought League 1.

As far as League 2 goes my fave team out of there is Plymouth Argyle.

I've seen quite a few people using Portsmouth. That was intriguing to me because of their former success and I simmed some years with them to test out some of the youth academy. It may be the most frustrating team I have worked with in manager mode.

Every year your expectations were to be promoted all the way up to the premier league. After bringing them straight up from league 2 to the championship and had them in 7th and rising and was fired half way through the season. Luckily I saved before that and was able to continue. Even so, you will never receive any sort of funding. My first season in the premier league I received a career high 2 million in available funds with a free wage budget of 10,000. I guess it makes sense in light of their history. My objective though the first year up in the premier league was to make it to European competition the next year with that great budget to work with.

Thanks for reading my venting. Don't use Portsmouth unless you want a fair bit of frustration.

That sucks. Unrealistic goals for a team like them. Btw, when was the last time Portsmouth made it to a European competition in real life?

2008/09 season after winning the FA Cup the year before. Right before everything was about to fall apart for them.

Great , im using portsmouth ill make sure to save mulitple files just in case this happens. ive already noticed management saying they were dissapointed we didnt make it farther in the fa cup even though we beat some big teams.

                    Re: England League 2 team?

I'm in the Championship with Mansfield right now, 4th season. Got promoted my first two years up to the Championship, and am now treading water so my young prospects develop a bit more, and I'm able to get a little bit more cashflow with my other prospects coming up through the pipeline. On the plus side, there are next to no expectations for my club, as every single year I've been asked to finish mid-table or avoid relegation. Figure in the next 2 or 3 years I'll get the squad to promotion and then start to do some damage in the PL.

Dagenham sounds like my next project, but I do have a side file of Portsmouth saved. I used my "billionare buyout" EA thing on a beginning file, and took the 41 million to buy 3 5*5* Scouts, and put them in the talent rich areas for 9 months each. Going to see what kind of crazy talent I can produce with those guys.

^Dagenham is fun. The challenge with them is that you only start off with $300,000. So you're pretty much stuck with the players you already have on the team, unless you buy some cheap player or get some players on loan. And youth scouts are almost out of the question.
My 1st year with them I was asked to get a high finish. I finished 10th and almost got fired. 2nd season, same goal but 6th place. Now in my third year, 22 games in and I'm 12th. Injuries has plagued my team and scoring goals have been harder because of it. Having a lot of fun though

I just started a career with Oxford. The board expects promotion, but I'm not sure the talent is there. With 750K I was able to shore up some young backups, and that's about it.

I figure in ral life, Oxford is a fast-growing city, so a premier league team fits. We'll see if I can get there.

Interesting. Im using Portsmouth and first year my objective was to gain automatic promotion. Second year I was in League 1 and my objective was to fight for promotion. Third year I made it to the Championship and my goal was to simply avoid relegation.

I don't know for sure if this is the case, but I think they look at your teams overall talent when they put the goals for your team. So if you have high talent, they'll expect more. If your teams talent is a little lower, they won't expect as much. These are just assumptions though
