Ever is a really long time. The structure of college football is quite unstable and unsustainable currently. Going to a playoff format and paying the players in the future would change the situation quite a bit.Comment

What do you guys think is the best route to take here if you haven't bought the game yet? Can I expect the price to drop on used versions like any other year or will this become a coveted game and drive up prices? NCAA Basketball 10 suffered the same fate but you can get used copies on Amazon for under $25.Comment

Re: EA Sports Will Not Publish College Football Game Next Year, Future Plans in Doubt
I am not sure the profit margin they are looking at with NCAA would be worth that extra effort. I doubt they'd even bother. Unless the NCAA players were able to somehow unionize and it was like it is with say the NFLPA.
No way the NCAA is going to negotiate with every individual player.
If the NCAA is able to whether the legal storm swirling around this case with its structure intact, I would think this might actually be a feasible option. Conferences and athletic departments aren't stupid, exposure is exposure and the game provides a not-insignificant amount of exposure (I'm curious if there are figures to be found on what effects NCAA Football has on the exposure of the sport), and that means $.
Would it be possible for the NCAA to spearhead forming such a union for its athletes? Add in a clause to their agreements saying that "by signging here, you consent to be represented by the NCAAPA (or whatever)." Finding college-y sounding language to couch it in shouldn't be too hard; think of it as a preparing the kid for the pro sports labor market in some way.Alumnus:

Maybe I'm wrong here or maybe I'm putting 2 and 2 together here long after everyone else has but; regarding the fact that it's been confirmed that you CANNOT import NCAA 14 draft classes into next-gen Madden NFL 25 - I have some suspicion that this was part of the NCAA/EA settlement agreement.
I have no evidence, just a hunch. It was confirmed forever to be IN and then just recently we hear that they were "mistaken". Not likely IMO. I wonder what the total fallout from this will be in Madden (if any) going forward?Favorite Sports Teams

NBA - Charlotte Hornets
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

I'm really bummed. This was the only game I bought from EA Sports since 2009. I quit playing Madden since it bored the crap out of me. You would think they would patch the crap out of this game since it's the last one that will be made but I highly doubt it.Favorite Teams:

To be honest with you, the EA team should simply take all assets from NCAA and turn the series into an open-ended football SIM*. Team Builder essentially makes needing any NCAA (or even NFL, CFL, XFL, you name it) license unnecessary because the user can create, curate and share content. If EA allowed more customization, this could be a real cash cow.
* Yes, SIM and EA in a sentence, I know...Comment

Re: EA Sports Will Not Publish College Football Game Next Year, Future Plans in Doubt
The player wouldn't be able to use his university / logo image / and or anything related to it --- IF --- this was to be permitted. And that's a big if. So therefore, the player wouldn't make anything. Why do you think Johnny Football is signing Texas A&M mini helmets instead of a generic one? He needs the school to make money. Because the paying customer is a fan of the school / program -- more so than a fan of the individual -- Because the individual changes every few years (if not every year).
Problem not solved.Comment
