We all know that this generations Madden was originally made for the Xbox360 and then ported over to the PS3 which hurt the graphics on the ps3 version in many aspects. With the next generation consoles coming out soon I was wondering if this is going to be the same case?

I don't know if that is true, but EA now changed the pics of the game info page for PS4. Makes me wonder if they are struggling to give us what was presented at E3! I was so excited in June and now wondering if they will not deliver and be the same BS???

I actually think since XBOX One uses Blu-Ray now it should be easier or maybe less damaging to game quality to port (if they even do that) games...

I own both this gen and I always buy for the 360. From what I understand the developers found the 360 easier to design for. I've been trying to find out which next gen console the developers are favoring. It seems next gen is a toss up. I'm not pre ordering until I get a definite feel for the games I'm planning on spending a lot of time with (nba2k) . I don't know if they are being politicaly correct or its really that close. We may have to wait until they are here to know for sure, maybe even a few dev cycles before its clear.Comment

I don't think that's going down this time around. Usually you would always seen games marketed using Xbox, now I'm seeing PS4. Take 2k14 for example. All of their footage has been PS4. You could never say that about the PS3.NFL:Colts

Games were designed for 360 and ported to PS3 because the 360 was out a year before PS3. Both release the same time so more than likely they are directly ported from PC to each system since they are so close in architecture. PS4 games may run better but who knows.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

The biggest difference will be the DD3 VRAM for XB1 vs DDR5 for PS4. But I think devs will figure it out. It won't be like this gen where there were certain PS3 games that were awful compared to 360 counterparts (The Darkness, early Maddens, Bethesda games), that's for sure.Comment

All I remember reading is that the PS4 was designed with developers in mind. They wanted to make it easier to make games for PS4 and developers seem to be confirming that Sony delivered on that aspect.NFL:Colts

Actually most games are going to work the other way around this time. I know for sure they said that 2K is being worked on on the PS4 (which is why we are seeing 100% PS4 gameplay). There is no reason for any type if console war here we all know which one is better. Our time has come.Comment

There were aplenty Xbox games ported to PS2 even though PS2 came out first. So, IMO, for two straight generations sports gaming has been superior on the Microsoft console. I would assume the status quo before I assumed a change. Then you add in that "Xbox is the console of the NFL" and the agreements between EA, Micrsoft and the NFL and well...Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"

Anyway the thing is nobody really knows right now how the dev environment is on these games. 3rd party devs are mostly silent, and the comparative performance of the systems seems to be in relative parity.
Because of the way RAM worked in current-gen there was a clear disparity in the way the systems worked, which along with the 360 being first to market, there was a real reason to start on 360 and "make it work" on PS3. Now, that's probably not the case.
If you want a sports game that takes unique advantages of the hardware, wish for there to be first party sports games again.Comment
