After reading through almost every page of this thread and analysing the video and comments over and over, I'm impressed with graphics, however we all expected this from 2k. The thing that will captured me is the gameplay, the movements, less morphing and the AI feeling real instead of cheating to win. Live has shown graphics but it doesn't really wow me. Next Gen 2k stripped of two game modes (crew and myteam I think it is), doesn't hurt me at all, because I expect myplayer and yes OFFLINE association to have improvements.

2k and Live is going to be about who can produce the best gameplay and features between the two for those who want a real game.

played 2k from since 2k2 - 2k13. Skipped NBA 2k5, 2k6.
played live from 04 - 08.

I agree, 2k took the lead.

I agree though that Player models aren't great. They're all way too big as it is in the screenshots.

We should all be on the same side and all want greatness from both games.

Not sure why we are getting repeated posts here and constant Live mentions in a 2K next gen thread. This has been warned against by mods.

The 2K next gen vid is the best NBA video game footage ever seen in my opinion. Any doubters, freeze frame Harden, have a good long look at the fraying effect on his beard, the shine on his arms and the wrinkles on his forehead. Then notice the tense expression, the "O" on his mouth and the blink as he takes the ball up. Notice his typical euro step around Ibaka (who also looks amazing) and tell me you don't want MORE.....MORE!!!! Haha.....

LD2K, you hint at things like "wow" and "amazing"....."its only the beginning"...... you leave (me personally) insanely intrigued.....amazing graphics were expected and somehow I was blown away..... I urge 2K, strike NOW while we all have the goose bumps and you'll lock away MILLIONS of pre-orders......give us MORE!!! Pics, vids, info..... MORE!!!!

The same can be said for 2k though. Everyone is so quick to forget what they've released for MLB 2k the last few years. At least EA had the decency to cancel sub-par games. That doesn't excuse the lack of information at this point, but for me, it gives them a sliver of credibility back.

What 2K did or didn't do with MLB is completely irrelevant, just as I think whatever EA did or didn't do with Madden is irrelevant when talking about NBA Live. Fact remains that 2K releases a very good game of basketball every year.

And Live/Elite 11-13 was way worse than MLB. EA isn't being "decent" by not releasing a crappy, terrible looking game. They're just trying to save what little dignity they have and trying not to do irreparable damage to their label after doing shoddy work year to year.

I'm not sure where the cats and dogs portion of the analogy is coming from. But taking the rest of your analogy: You're asking whether I would rather eat at a new restaurant with the same menu as an older restaurant, but newer equipment, and fresher food. Or I can try a new, rebranded place with new chefs and an unknown menu.

Lol. What I am saying is that Live, the "new" restaurant, has been closed because it's been preparing sketchy food while advertising a gourmet menu. It's an old joke that Chinese restaurants secretly serve cats and dogs.

I wasn't saying that the graphics looked equal. I was saying that we can't tell anything from these kinds of videos, because they don't show us uncut, unedited gameplay.

This is NBA 2k13 PC. With the exception of facial expressions, it looks just as good, if not better, than this TV Spot.

And to that, we all said, Um, NO. Regardless, it's an apples to grapes comparison. The video you posted was heavily post-processed. The TV spot was mostly edited but raw gameplay.

Anyway, to temper expectations, I do expect next-gen 2k to exhibit some of the same foot planting issues as current gen 2k. I see a bit of that in the video already. The gameplay will be solid 2k14 gameplay, hopefully further enhanced on next-gen, but will look phenomenally better. For what it's worth, I don't think Live will do much better in the foot planting area except for the ball handler-- you can see a lot of twitchy animations in the background of every player not named Kyrie. EA tried hard to edit them out of the shot where possible but some of it actually looks quite bad. The foot planting issue is not solved in either franchise yet.
