This. I'm laughing out loud, literally! Shall we talk signature animations, player movement? Where do we start? The only thing that would've tickled me more would have been if the comment was about"The Show" being stale. You tweak what isn't broken. You reinvent what is hopelessly broken. Sad thing is, I used to get on here and always say,"hey Fifa's got this tech, how would this work in Madden?" They got all of the tech which was developed by the Fifa team and can't make it work with Madden. Sound is bad. Player movement is worse than sound. Atmosphere.... well, what atmosphere? I was tempted to jump on the "hey, better get NCAA, it's the last one" train. But I can't even get past watching a gameplay video. No hype left here. I got NCAA13 for $25 off of Amazon, it's still in the shrink wrap and cardboard. No joke.
This game has been really bad, in comparison to every other major sports title for a while now. I love football, and was really hoping to be blown away with this vid. One juke and it was the same old feeling. It takes more than visuals to impress me. I stare at a super detailed version of Fifa and NBA2k on my PC everyday. And I'm not thinking that this new chip is going to even come close to my PC right now this whole gen. I have twice the chip (i7 3770-k), 16GB of RAM and a monster graphics card that costs as much as an XBOX1. Why should I spend more to come back to a console game system? They have a lot of work to do to impress me and my wallet...... This video didn't come close.Comment

Then your real goal is just to complain...which is just weird...I mean if I absolutely hated a game and really had nothing good or redeeming to appreciate about it...What would be my motive for posting and discussing it?...Not that every comment about any game in a forum needs to be a lovefest but you have clearly drawn the line in the sand. Don't you think its time to just let Madden go?...I mean If felt like you I wouldn't waste my time thinking people actually care that I hate a game. Unless I got pleasure out of following the herd and the status quo of madden detractors.Comment

I refused to believe that the saints/dolphins video was next get until I noticed the same GIFFy cut-and-paste cameramen on the sidelines. You can clearly see them in the Chris Johnson portion of the trailer.Comment

Some of these complaints are laughable. I guess folks wanted holograms for the graphics. Then we have folks saying Madden sucked this entire gen, and then act disappointed with the new trailer. I guess I'm in the minority cause I loved what I saw. Bengals stadium looked crazyComment

Yeah this site has always been full of nba 2k fanboys, that bashes anything EA makes, just the way it is. I was a member years ago with a different name, but stopped getting on cause of the bias, it got annoying, I see it still is. I love 2k too, but I'm not blinded by the fact nba 2k been essentially the same game since 2k11, but everyone pretends like they can see and tell the difference every year, oh it feels so different this year etc. Is what everyone says. But when madden does the same thing everyone complains. Time to hold everyone not just EA accountable.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Presentation Trailer (Official)
I wouldn't see it as complaining...Just sharing that the complaints are not going to make a difference...hence a waste of time and emotion...Then in some cases of those who will never happy...That begs the question why are you even here?..I guess I already know the answer though...Some folks just like ragging on EA and complaining about ANYTHINGComment

But I get it...some of you just don't like Madden...So i'll repeat myself...Move on cause just like 2K...madden aint changing...I get the feeling though that many folks would rather complain and be unhappy about madden no matter what changes they make. Madden will NEVER be good enough for some of these guys/gals.Comment

I ain't trynna get this thread closed, so I don't think 2k should be brought up anymore. Last thing I'll say is 2k shouldn't be have to be brought up to defend or to put down Madden. Should be enough ammo for both sides to make their points. If not, it's not worth joining the discussion.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Re: Madden NFL 25 Next-Gen Presentation Trailer (Official)
Ok..as long as their are individual bodies yelling and screaming in the seats that are not card board cutouts do we really, really care about anything else after that...Other than a quick stadium pan here and there and as long as every fan is not the same fan you would think that most of us would want time and effort to go into things like realtime presentation such as stat overlays, cleaning up tackle animations or improvement on defensive AI.
With stadiums all I want is immersion. Cookie cutter sidelines with players wearing jerseys with "09" and players that are on the field magically appearing on the sideline at the same time hurts immersion. Crowds that dont react intelligently hurts immersion. Having a playoff game in GB with a half full crowd because of snow hurts immersion.Comment

I get that people really love Madden. I used to, as well. But now, I stand by my point that was made. Pretty graphics don't blow me away. Blades of grass, not so much. I see them every day on my high dollar PC. It might impress some, not me. I need major gameplay upgrades to even ponder a buy. Maybe NBA2k or Fifa would make me want to blow 500 for a XBox1, but not what I saw last night. But even with the other two titles, probably not. I'm more than happy with the gameplay, graphics and that they can be heavily modded. So that leaves me looking at this title as a major piece in deciding whether to come back to consoles for gaming. I still have a 360 that works. My two boys play Disney Infinity every day on it. Now I will conceed that it is early in the game, and I do tend to lean towards the past in viewing Tiburon with skepticism. But I feel it is well earned. And so do a lot of the people who went through the last gen fiasco. "Ring Builder" and Ian showing us WR animations that somehow didn't make it in the game. How we all said the running animations that his guys came up with looked more authentic ( and 2k like) and he decided he didn't like them, and changed it back to the same tired ones.
If we seem bitter about Madden, it was earned over many titles. One reason I love OS is that these guys, and myself, as well, LOVE sports games. All sports. This isn't "2k is great and EA SUCKS," contrary to the popular opinion. NBA Live 10 got serious respect here. Fifa is getting love this year, as hard as it is for the PES purists.NHL gets mad love from it's fans. Why? Because they are great games. The Show gets mad love every year here. MLB2k got roundly booed, and rightly so. It was trash. So to the point at hand. This trailer did nothing to show many of us that Madden isn't still the same WIP, mistake of a game that many of us on here feel it has become. Does everyone here share that opinion? No. But it is pretty widespread. Not just here, but even with the major gaming sites. Legacy issues always get mentioned in reviews. Heck, PastaPadre, accused of being the biggest fanboy ever known of Madden, has started throwing barbs at it in his review.
Do I want Madden to fail? Nope. I love football games. And there is one less with NCAA being tanked. But I would like to actually have a good to great football game to play. As of right now, I cannot consider Madden to fit that description. It is decent to mediocre in my book. My book. That's the book that counts..... I'll watch this all unfold, and hope. But so far, meaning this first trailer, I'm still in "meh" mode. I'm over the kool-aid and hero worship. It's on Madden's team to make me want to buy it. And, yes, I get I'm only one sale. But one of the sales they lost. Question really is, do they even care? I think they should. 60 bucks is 60 bucks. They've lost a lot of $60 increments over the last few years. They all count, and they add up to a successful business.Last edited by BrianFifaFan; 10-01-2013, 06:34 PM.Note to Tiburon Marketing:
A great product sells itself, no "back of the box" features required! (See Fifa...)

2K is the same damn game with minor improvements...I love 2K but to be fair..Madden is the same game with minor improvements as well. Condemn one but praise the other for the exact same path?
But I get it...some of you just don't like Madden...So i'll repeat myself...Move on cause just like 2K...madden aint changing...I get the feeling though that many folks would rather complain and be unhappy about madden no matter what changes they make. The difference for me is if you take 2k14 and just add next gen graphics...most people would be satisfied with that game. Do the same for Madden and most wont be satisfied. The difference is 2k is a better representation of NBA Basketball (with slider tweaks) than Madden is of NFL Football.
Also, stop this rhetoric. Just like most people who defend Madden arent Madden fanboys, the people who want a better game and dont celebrate every small step EA makes arent all people who just like to complain.Comment
