It's not that Madden Next Gen doesn't look good, it just doesn't look THAT much better than current gen. The graphical leap is minor. It's nothing like how huge the jump from PS2 Madden to PS3 Madden was and that's unnerving for a lot of people. You want the gameplay to be there, but history says it's highly unlikely with this franchise after 9 seasons of coming up shy in so many areas.

I don't know what to say about this anymore. Just seems like a never-ending cycle with this company.

For me, all I want is fluid and natural movements. PS2 and original Xbox madden and 2k both had extremely smooth and fluid movements. Why is Madden this gen and next gen plagued with these horrible robotic clunky animations? Add to the fact that they are the ONLY sports game that have these horrible ridiculous animations!

Not to cause a war but strictly because it has to do with what is being said. The jump that 2k made in terms of graphics is monumental to the point of being hard to distinguish from real life (not an exaggeration as most people don't realize the shift from RL to VG James in the intro). Would be nice to see this in Madden as well.

Watching that trailer a couple times now, i'm pretty underwhelmed. Besides the lighting in a couple of those shots as well as the stadium overviews, the game looks pretty identical to the current generation version of Madden.

Madden has looks pretty good on the current generation of hardware, finally seeing this trailer it didn't pop out as much as going from 06 on xbox to 06 on 360 at least not graphically to me.

Now the biggest problem Madden has, has always been animations and fluidity. We can't deduce too much from that video since it was a lot of quick cuts to different players and motions, but from the little we saw, there wasn't a big difference from this current gen Madden. I'm pretty underwhelmed at this reveal, I was expecting a bit more and sort of watched it and went, "that's it?."

Right now the Xbox One version of Madden is at the bottom of my game Q from Gamefly

What exactly is an engine and how does it work in video games?

I bet you don't even know what an engine is or how many engines it takes to make the game work.

it literally looks like its 95% ported over from the 360/ps3 generation. Graphically it looks different.. (i wouldnt say better).. but just different. Textures are a bit improved obviously. but omg the gameplay looks identical. Stiff animations and all. I nearly turned it off when I saw the same endzone celebrations. Identical to what we have now. I just dont get it

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't expect a complete overhaul with the first game out of the gate.

In short, what I would expect is lots of improvements that will have people saying "when they get another year or two to really nail this down, this game is going to be fantastic."

This has to be two of THE most confusing days. Fins vs Saints video was said to be confirmed next gen gameplay, But then said to be a mistake. Now were suposef to believe its ESPN's fault for rendering the footage incorrectly? Tried to check Ratesports thread but its closed. Can anyone reclarify this for me?

Yes, the Dolphins Saints video is Next gen, it apparently wasn't encoded correctly, but it is definitely the next gen game.

yea i wasn't expecting a big change this year..only better graphics to be honest anything else is a plus to me...which i do know they suppose to have better camera angels in certain moments in the game...heck seeing the player leap in the crowd was pretty cool...

This still has not been 100% confirmed. Steve - OS's owner - believes it wasn't next-gen. He said it was nothing like what he played at E3.

But to be fair he was unable to receive confirmation either way.

Unless this was confirmed from another source.
