      California Escapes Greenville
The Vulcans have made it out of Greenville after a near collapse against a highly motivated East Carolina team. The Pirates of ECU used a no-huddle spread attack against the Vulcans to confound and tire the defense. It worked fairly effectively, and the Pirates were able to amass plenty of yards through the air. Ultimately, however, it proved to be too little, as California was able to hang on late in the game to keep the W.

California's big second quarter allowed them to keep ECU in their rear-view for the remainder of the game. Having to constantly play catch-up ended up being ECU's undoing, with their fate resting on a last-minute onside kick attempt which was unsuccessful. For the Vulcans, Devin Lomax (Jr.) had a huge game receving, while Trey Johnson was able to ground out over 100 yards.

ECU, now 1-10, will take on UCF in an ACC matchup next week. California will head back home to take on Southern Methodist (6-4). The Vulcans will likely move up one spot in the polls to #17, thanks to an Alabama loss to Mississippi State.

      Players of the Game:
California - Devin Lomax (WR) - 6 Rec, 138 Yds
      East Carolina - John Barber (QB) - 28/33, 362 Yds, 2 TD

California Junior RB Trey Johnson (2) plows in for the score late in the 4th quarter to seal the win. He finished with 123 yards on 21 carries.

In BCS news, Texas will likely hold onto their #1 ranking while being idle this week. They take on undefeated Navy in an important game next week for both teams. Florida, formerly #3, will be the only team to fall hard after losing to #21 South Carolina.

The Vulcans weak schedule is not doing them any favors in terms of Bowl placement; the only quality win this year came against #25 Marquette, 18-17. Losses against Vanderbilt and Quinnipiac, teams a combined 4-17, will certainly knock them into lesser bowls even if they manage to win out. However, they do have one remaining big game against Navy in the final week. It will be a must win if California desires a bowl around the beginning of the New Year.

Aww, no love for good ole UAB?

Started a Dynasty with them about a month ago, about 3 games into my second season with them now. My inaugural year went 9-5, losing out to Tulsa in the C-USA championship game and a loss to Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl, both really close games but I do not remember the scores.

Second season I am 2-1, losing to Alabama 35-21, after coming back from a 28-7 deficit, our team reached its limit in the 4th quarter.

Re: How is your dynasty going

So, Duke is 8-0 despite a frustrating and annoying game at Wake Forest.. We won 48-24 but take the score away and it felt like a loss, Lucas threw 38/46 for 517 Yards and 2 TD but threw 5 INT and I swear I don't get how a LB who gets beat by a WR can make up a 5 yards deficit.. And 3 of them came at the end of the half, when I threw 3 picks in 4 passes.. So yea 5 INT.. then there's the 2 Missed FG's.. Granted one was a 63 yarder, but he had the distance and even though I hit the analog to the left and the wind was blowing left it went right, then on a chip shot from 25, again I hit the stick right and it goes straight.. Then there was the dropped pass by the TE on 4th down early, wide open, no contact.. Dropped..
Then theres the sacks.. 1 sack in the 1st half, 7 in the 4th Quarter.. I swear I got soo angry when I say throw the ball or get rid of it and he just holds on and gets hit..
And to top it all off we drop from 1 to 2 in the polls, why? Because despite being undefeated and the defending champs, not to mention absolutely slaughtering Top 25 teams Alabama, Georgia Tech and beating Clemson. Penn State can jump us by beating Ohio State and 1! ONE!! other team with a winning record! Even though The only game Duke has played that has been close was the GW FG as time expired to beat #13 Clemson at Clemson..

            But on the season:
            Passing:
            Jamal Lucas: 221/277 2,987 Yards 33 TD 16 INT

            Rushing:
Jamal Lucas: 82 ATT, 738 Yards 6 TD

Lucas is about 24 TD's from the NCAA Career record which is why I opened up the offense to a passing style this season

So yea, 8-0 and on a 19 Home Winning Streak, 22 Overall Streak

Why cant i run the ball at all the first quarter? No acceleration from the back at all. Moving at slow motion. 7 carries for 5 yards. Every game. Than, in the 2nd quarter his acceleration is back. Frustrating.

CL- Well I feel that we are better prepared this year ... Last year we got man handled , But We need our Offense to step up because Last year we Couldn't score points we had 10 total.

SP- How do you feel about critics saying that Notre Dame still hasn't proved anything after losing the last 4 games of the regular season last year?

CL- I agree with them 1000% we HAVEN'T PROVED ANYTHING yet but this year We WILL change EVERYBODY's minds

CL- Well I'm I specialize as a Defensive Coach AND a Offensive Coach but I'm really really happy with how we been playing this year plus we didn't really lose anybody on Defense like we did on Offense

Sorry if this is a dumb question.. How do you know when your coordinators are leaving and can you hire new ones or are they automatically assigned to you? I just finished a season and saw the coaching carousel screen but didn't notice anything about my coordinators leaving and then all of a sudden I have a new OC and DC.

If you really wanna know, you gotta sit through the entire CC and see if they get hired somewhere else.

I started a new dynasty withe Florida State a while back and I have made it up all the way to #6 with I think a 5-0 record. I played #8 Clemson last night and lost 51-36 but before it saved it froze so I have to play that game again. Fine by me but I am just glad I didn't win when it froze, I'd be a mad, mad man...

Re: How is your dynasty going

Does anyone know how to fix the skinny arm glitch for RBs?

I'm rolling with Jeremy Hill with Pee Wee Herman arms.

I mean it's not really a big deal, it's just that I ended up with Mike Gundy (current OK St. HC) as my OC. It's not very likely that he would go from that job to OC at Miami.
