Don't know if this has been posted but if you have Comcast NHL Center Ice is available to everyone from October 1st - October 19th for no charge. Just thought I'd remind everyone regardless. I know I wanted to watch a game tonight but theres nothing nationally. This works out even better.

Ha, I think I remember watching that during the day on Presidents' Day.

Norm Maciver brought the Stanley Cup to town. It's about 3 blocks away from me, but the line is apparently ridiculous. Foiled.

CRAZY stat about the Hurricanes.

In their first 15 years in Carolina, they're 3-10-2 in their home openers.

The three years they won, they made it to at least the conference finals (with two conference championships and one Cup).

The two years they tied, they made the playoffs but lost in the first round.

The ten years they lost, they missed the playoffs.

So Downie gets 2 minutes for leaving his feet on a high torpedo check, but Weber gets 4 minutes for standing up for his teammate, who is now in the "dark room" being evaluated?

He didn't leave his feet before contact though. He should get 2 for charging, which the refs didn't call initially. Wouldn't surprise me if Downie gets suspended though because of his reputation and Josi being injured. Josi was falling backwards and and Downie's momentum made it look worse than it was live.

Every game except Kings/Jets had both home and road broadcasts. Is this new?

I still can't believe that John Tortorella is the Canucks coach. It seems like a bad idea. Torts and Vancouver the hockey team and city just seem an awkward fit to me.
