    Smashmouth power run PB

Anyone suggest a playbook that is heavy on the run and uses a lot of I formation? Want to go old school with a power FB blocking and a power HB running it up the gut. Rather not go with the default Run Heavy PB. Would a Madden or Gibbs be something like that or a current coach?

Going to go with a fantasy draft, so I don't need to worry too much on a current team's personnel.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

The steelers PB still has a lot of traditional sets. Lots of two TE and some three TE sets. I like to start by pounding straight ahead then at the end of long drives (after the D is fatigued) I like to run counter plays with Extra TE's

I'd recommend checking the Madden Share as well.

What about the read option? I know Carolina has a few different ones but which OB has the most read options? And maybe a 5 WR set

Was coming here to suggest the Niners. Lots of different runs with plenty of option plays. The play-action is very conservative with plenty of three TE sets.

I love those counter plays where those pulling guards and big TE's get out and get a miss match blocking assignment against a DB.......the results are priceless lol.

I haven't checked, but I assume Lombardie's and Gibbs may have a good amount of running formations.

                        Re: Smashmouth power run PB

Personally, I'm not looking for any option type formations. I prefer the old school, pound it in, tire the defense out, type offense. Just for the halibut, I did some looking at the classic coaching PBs. This is what I found in regard to just the running offense. I added the Run Heavy PB as comparison.

Just the number of Inside Handoffs for each PB

                        Run Heavy. 36
                        Walsh. 25
                        Billick. 51
                        Vermeil. 52
                        Johnson. 59
                        Gibbs. 43
                        Madden. 27
                        Ditka. 45
                        Landry. 35
                        Flores. 33
Lombardi. 6 Total of 28 running plays in his PB

Except for Madden and Lombardi, most of the other running plays are in the lower teens. Billick, vermeil, Johnson and Gibbs have their Counter play count in the lower 20s.

I can post the full chart of the breakout of running plays if enough people are interested.

The Run Heavy default PB has 80 total running plays. As compared to the Jimmy Johnson PB that has 126 running plays. This is just on the RUN screen. Doesn't take into consideration any special or faking out plays.

Going to try the Gibbs PB and see what happens.
