I wonder how many of the EA developers working on Madden even really like football? Because I really find it hard to believe NFL die hards who really respect the game would create such bad football video game year after year.

Yeah but sliders don't fix the animations or the graphics that haven't changed at all.

they make a big difference with the animations, graphics is another story. but either way I don't buy the 360 mix up story. but I do think something weird is going on. I just don't believe that is a fully rendered, fully optimized latest build of the next gen game.

Ok on a somewhat serious note, do any of you truly consider this footage to be representative of what Madden will look like on the ps4 and Xbox One next month?

As much EA bashing that goes on here, at the end of the day, no developer or creator sets out to make a bad game. I doubt these guys go to work and stress the last bit of development with putting in 12-15 hours days so they can deliver a game they have no confidence in nor hope.

Plus, really fellas (and ladies) do we really think this is what Madden will/does look like on these new boxes? There is no possible way the game can look like that, even if they put in no effort at all and ported the game up to the next consoles, it would still look slightly better.

They've been working their butts off to create something they believe in. I'm 100% sure the game will not look nor animate that poorly when it is released next month. Is the game going to be perfect and meet everyone's expectations? of course not, however it will certainly look and animate better than the current videos we have seen from ESPN.

Let's have a little faith in here people

Maybe Madden 25 NG will go the way of NBA Elite.

That's what I said a few posts back, if its going to be a train wreck then EA needs to pull it and start over just like NBA elite. I would much rather wait and get a genuine next gen football game that is worthy of the upgrade to a new console. I am fine with EA dropping it until then. They could concentrate on patches and roster updates on current gen M25 until they iron out a decent next gen Madden.

People have already played next gen version of Madden in New York last week. And they said it looks no better then current gen. So why should we have faith?

People keep saying this but what would this solve? What end would it accomplish for us right now?

I think it's a foregone conclusion that the exclusive license with the NFL is done because EA has cornered the market and I don't see them paying for it again.

It would take YEARS for any competitor to make a game that would challenge Madden.

They got what they wanted with the initial deal.

IMO, it's too late at this point.

We just have to cross our fingers and hope that at some point, the EA devs are able to convince those making the decisions that there is a good reason to make the game an actual representation of the football we see on Sundays....

Ending the exclusive would benefit Madden even without a competitor. EA would have twice the development funds they have now if they went open license. Whether EA would put it back into the game and not share holders pocket is another thing altogether though.

Would it be a relief if madden is pulling a show from 07 - 08. Where 07 was a port of the ps 2 and then 08 was what we basically have today. Could maddens 2nd team be hard at work at a true next gen game to be released next year?

If EA is trying to cater to a huge audience I don't know why they don't go the route that 2k has, add a menu to adjust from arcade to casual gamer to hardcore sim gamer. Make it where each type of game has more or less presentation, have arcade be a quicker, no presentation hard WWF crazy tackles and high scores. Casual gamer would be nothing but ask madden type game with small presentation elements. Hardcore sim game would be what all the SIM guys are screaming for, realistic stats and presentation, full cut scenes and replays, full halftime show and post game interviews. Nothing but realistic tackling and animations. IDK, maybe this is all asking for too much but it is one way EA could cater to EVERYONE!

So this same madden team that needs years to add new accessories/get colors correct/do the simplest of things technology wise yet they have one version of next gen madden with old animations and a "fully rendered, optimized, version" with all the old animations replaced and somehow ESPN still has the old version? Lol..

The only light at the end of the tunnel is maybe the ESPN videos are from an extremely early build of madden NG. If not,,,
