    Pass off Dribble

2k has had a shoot off dribble rating for years. I think that a pass off dribble rating would greatly increase the realism of the game. Madden has a throw on run rating so I assume a pass on the dribble rating could be programmed into the game.

    1. Do you think this rating is necessary?

    2. Would the rating add to realism?

    3. Should it be added to the game?

It would make players like Rubio, Magic and J-Will(just to name a few) stand out more. I loved watching some of the highlight films of J-Will hitting a sick crossover and dishing to Webber for a nice dunk.

I think that is a lot of what the "passing" rating is. I think the higher your passing rating the better you can throw it when on the run and while doing other things.

I am able to throw cross court, one handed pinpoint passes, on the move with anyone currently. No matter the rating. The next time you are on a fast break look at some of the Jason Kidd passes that players like Corey brewer and Jarod Dudley are throwing. I see tons of low rated passers throwing pin point one handed passes on the move in 2k. I personally don't see it.

I am leaning on no. From what I seen the majority of 2K players seem to forgot basic bball fundamentals when they pick up the sticks or don't know how basketball is truly played and will complain if they are restricted from being able to whip all kinds of passes whenever they want to. I personally would like this added as a Sim feature set

Catching the passes should be added as well on that note.

On of the more important thing is to be able to catch passes as well.

Passing definitely needs a revamp. You're absolutely right, the number of players who can throw an accurate pass while dribbling is not as high as VC thinks it is.

If the regular passing ratings don't affect passes on the run, that is a pretty big oversight.

Very few big men have good hands in real life. A big man with good hands is usually a good player. What is the hands rating for? I thought that was for catching passes.

The hands and the passing is another one of the reasons why athletic players always play way better than their ratings and skill players tend to play worse.

One reason players like Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan are still effective at age 37-38 is the simple fact that they are 7' tall and can reliably touch the ball in crucial game situations. Athletic freaks like Deandre Jordan or JaVale McGee are much worse players partly because they can't.

The video game doesn't do enough to penalize the second type of player. Probably intentionally. Though it's fun to laugh at JaVale McGee when he throws the ball into the stands on "Shaqtin-a-fool," 2K players would get upset at the game if their video game JaVale did that at random times while they were using him.

To compensate for the skill guys, VC instead tries to make them UBER-skilled at certain things. So KG has a nearly-automatic mid-range shot, Steph Curry can't miss from 3-point range, Chris Paul can steal the ball just by looking at you, etc.

I think the ratings are really holding back the game this year as they get further and further away from the new baselines they set in 2k10. Ratings across the board have gotten inflated to the point where the imbalances with how you can use certain players are really becoming a problem.
