WR run after catch
Quick question. 90% of the time when my receiver catches the ball and I take control he stops running and then has to accelerate back up to speed. I can't seem to get them to catch it in stride and continue running, upfield. I understand if its a bad pass and he has to adjust but man, when he's going full speed and has a 3 or 4 yard lead on a defender I should be able to get some YAC. Anyone else having this problem? If so, how can I combat this? Thanks

Re: WR run after catch
I guess it would be considered slowing down but its enough to get tackled when otherwise I wouldn't. Once he catches it I get switched to him automatically so there's not really a way to avoid being switched. Nice to hear that someone else has seen this as well. Thanks

Play on Normal. Its still slightly there but the animation is better.
Basically it needs to be patched but Normal makes it better.Comment

Re: WR run after catch
FIX#1: So long as you do not actually press any buttons, move any sticks etc, when he catches the ball, the AI should continue to control the receiver. Then you can take over at any point by simply activating something on the controller.
FIX#2: Switch to Normal
FIX#3: If/when you take control of the WR, be sure that R2 (or corresponding button XBOX) be the first thing you press to give the burst of speed/accelerate.
As soon as I know my receiver caught the ball, I'm already on that Accelerator and it works to keep me from being caught usually. You only have to hold it for 2 seconds to assure he's at full speed.
This last point is same for catching punts/kicks if you want to just take off.Comment

I hear ya. CJ Spiller shouldn't be caught from behind by a D-lineman, and yet it happens to me all the time.Comment

Re: WR run after catch
I've seen this happen as well but not very often but I've also seen where I hit my wr in stride and no lost of speed what so ever.
I play on slow and I useally wait till after the wr catches it to control him.Comment

Re: WR run after catch
I agree. 9.5/10 EVERY catch is a stop/pause catch pause then run....
Seriously.... I honestly am convinced(have been for years) that the developers know jack **** about football.... I mean it shows....Comment

Re: WR run after catch
It actually depends on your Qb. Qbs with accuracy in the 90s have the ability to hit wrs in stride without them slowing down. One of my favorite Qbs to use is Kellen Moore from the Lions by way of Boise State. He has a 92 SAC which is awesome for dink and donking down the field.Psn: Plex-07Comment
