John's Hopkins Blue Jays - The Interactive Dynasty Story

    ESPN Breaking News Report:

    Rece Davis:
“In a shocking turn of events by the NCAA earlier this week it would seem the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will be taking their football program to Division II. According to sources the Athletic Director felt it was simply time to part ways with football in the FBS D1-A. This leaves a major gap in the Sun Belt Conference who has fallen to only 7 teams after already losing several after the 2012 season. In an effort to save the conference Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson has reached out to a Division III school, John’s Hopkins University. The Athletic Director, Tom Calder gave this press conference early this morning announcing the team’s future.”

Live at John’s Hopkins University with Tom Calder

    Tom Calder:
“We are here today to announce a pivotal moment in Blue Jays Athletics. The John’s Hopkins Blue Jays will be taking the place of the recently removed Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in the FBS D1-A Sun Belt Conference. As always with moving up in a division there will be many challenges, especially with our advancement of three entire divisions. However, the Athletic Department and I have the utmost faith in our squad and coaching staff. First year head coach Michael Anthony is going to have a hell of a challenge on his hands but I think he is up for it. In compliance with NCAA football regulation our roster will be fit to 70 players no later than tomorrow evening. Coach Anthony is working diligently with his team to release this roster as soon as possible. Thank you, and I look forward to a wonderful and exciting new season.”

    Rece Davis:
“There you have it folks, John’s Hopkins University are the new football team in the Sun Belt Conference. Joining Georgia State and South Alabama in their first seasons in FBS D1-A, the Sun Belt Conference should be nothing if not exciting.”

To all the readers thank you for your patience and participation in what I hope will be one of the most entertaining Dynasty Stories on here. With the loss of any future NCAA it is rest assured I will keep this game and we could potentially turn this in to a long running series.

The first game will played as soon as I receive the Pre-Season interviews from our listed captains. Thank you everyone so much for the support and messages of encouragement, it it truly the readers that make my efforts worth it.

Re: John's Hopkins Blue Jays - The Interactive Dynasty Story

ESPN has caught up with DeeDee Hunter, a captain for the newest member of Division 1 football, John's Hopkins University. DeeDee was selected as Special Teams captain and is one of the key players on offense for John's Hopkins.

                    ESPN:
"DeeDee thank you for agreeing to this interview, I'm sure it's exciting to be in the FBS all in the blink of an eye."

DeeDee Hunter: "Thank you for havin me, I am so excited to be in the FBS now, I feel this is where I've belonged all this time. I expect to be at the highest level at all times so this is right where I wanna be."

ESPN: "You say you thought this is where you belong, why didn't Division 1 schools recruit you out of high school?"

DeeDee Hunter: "I come from a part where we don't get much recognition, I always had to strive to get my name out there, my talent is unbelievable but I guess the scouts aren't good enough to find a diamond in the rough like me. John's Hopkins is lucky to have me and I am grateful they wanted me."

ESPN: "How do you think you will be used on offense at John's Hopkins?"

DeeDee Hunter: "I expect to be used all around the field. I'll be catchin the ball the most because that is my position, but I want to take handoffs out of the backfield and be used on screens so I can make people miss. I am the number 1 receiver on this team so I can be relied on any time. If they need a big play, they'll go to me. I'll probably get the most touches on offense so in other words I expect to be used a lot."

ESPN: "What do you think of your QB, redshirt freshman Baby Snoots?"

DeeDee Hunter: "I like Baby a lot, he can make all of the throws needed to get the ball in my hands and that's all he needs to do. We talk a lot and I've assured him many times that I am his guy to go to and that he can rely on me no matter what. He understands what I bring to the table and I think we'll be a great tandem this year."

ESPN: "You were named Special Teams captain for your school, why do you think they chose you for this role?"

DeeDee Hunter: "I think they chose me because they know I am a special player. I am electric with the ball in my hands. Nobody can catch me. You see the #1 on the back of my jersey? You can stop there because you ain't catchin up. I feel I could have been Offensive captain because I'm the best weapon we have on offense, but since I am the main kick and punt returner, it makes sense why I am Special Teams captain. They need a guy to lead that part of the team and I will do a great job with that. You've gotta be good if you're a captain as a freshman, right?"

ESPN: "If you could compare yourself to an NFL player, past or present, who would that be?"

DeeDee Hunter: "I've always modeled my game after Randy Moss, we're very similar. I'd also like to compare myself to Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson. I can be a deep threat like Randy Moss and I can also be the all around receiver Terrell was. I have it all, so it's hard to compare one guy to me."

ESPN: "If you could give yourself a nickname, what would it be?"

DeeDee Hunter: "Oh man, I've had tons of nicknames...uh let me see, I think Flash would be the best one for me. I like to be flashy on and off the field. I like to get in the face of people and make people know who I am. My celebrations are the flashiest of anyone. I'm one of the fastest players in the country and I'm like a Flash to anyone watchin me."

ESPN: "Last question DeeDee, everyone has heard about your knack to celebrate in the endzone or even after a regular play, will you still do this in college, even though they are not afraid to throw a flag for it?"

DeeDee Hunter: "I plan to keep doing what I've always been doing. When you're as good as I am you don't let a penalty stop you. I am not afraid of a yellow piece of fabric being thrown just because I am celebrating. Everyone loves my celebrations and it is who I am. I have some great ones planned this year, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them come back to you at ESPN for the nation to watch and enjoy."

ESPN: "Thank you DeeDee and good luck to you and your team this season."

DeeDee Hunter: "Ay thanks, I'm glad to do these anytime. I'm sure we'll being talking again real soon."

Marshall Brees: "Thank you for your time Tyrone, I know with the drama surrounding the team you have a busy schedule."

Tyrone Davidson: "Yeah we have been very busy as a team over the last couple of days, this opportunity to play division 1 football it's once in a life time and the team, coach, and I have been a getting ready for opening day."

                      Marshall Brees:
"You grew up close to here in a well known troubled neighborhood of Washington D.C., how has that shaped you as a player? Were there any struggles or points you didn't think you would make it?"

Tyrone Davidson: "I think growing up in tough neighborhood really made me a stronger person and on the playing field I don't back down from anybody thanks to some things I've seen. At one point in my senior year we were playing our rivals and the field was stormed by rival gangs, that night I thought I wouldn't make it this far."

Marshall Brees: "With last years suspension for biting your back up who you felt was a threat, why do you think Coach Anthony was willing to choose you as the Offensive Captain?"

Tyrone Davidson: "First of all to G.Kemp I'm sorry man things happen in the heat of the moment. As for my captain status I have been working very hard this off-season and have lead my side to record wins in scrimmage, so Coach gave me this responsibility."

Marshall Brees: "I apologize for these questions that seem to attack your character but as a person known for being loud and outspoken now in the limelight of NFL scouts, do you think you will tone it down?"

Tyrone Davidson: "I am who I am and I'm not changing for nobody you know that and so do those idiot NFL scouts."

Marshall Brees: "Well I appreciate your time, final question real quick, how do you see this team performing this year?"

Tyrone Davidson: "To be honest I can see us going undefeated and winning the crystal bowl, watch out 'Bama."

Skip Bayless: "Welcome everyone, today we have JR ROLB Dontae' Brown from John Hopkins University!"

Dontae' Brown: "It's an honor to be here Skip."

S.B: "Lets get right into this. What did you think when you heard your school was jumping to D1?"

D.B: "I was just chilling with my little bro Alan when we heard. He's a freshman so he didn't truly get a feel of excitement, but I completely did. My whole NCAA career, I've been unknown to the general public when scrubs like Jadevon Clowney and Shane Skov get all the credit."

S.B: "Do you feel you are better than those two young gentlemen?"

D.B: "Without a doubt. They can't carry my jockstrap."

S.B: "How'd it feel to know you were named defensive captain of this underdog type team?"

D.B: "Man, it was expected. I mean, who on this defense can keep up with my skill? No one thats who. The best guy is always captain, so I was the obvious choice."

S.B: "How do you think your going to do this season?"

                        D.B: "95 tackles, 25 sacks, 12 FF"

S.B: "Thats all the time we have, Dontae' Brown everyone."

D.B: "Heisman Candidate is my name Skip..."

                        * I want to thank all the captains for their timely responses. I will have our first game played tonight and pm all users with a couple questions. I will then write up a mock post game press conference with the answers I feel are best. If you have any character directions you want your story to go, pm me and I will try and encourage it into the story.

Looking forward to it. I've been on a high all day after my Vols upset South Carolina.
