Any chance we can get a control patch?

I'm not a big fan of the control changes... And most ppl I speak with have said the same thing. I send the ball sailing into the crowd without meaning to even pass. The modifiers in the new scheme aren't nearly as intuitive and cause VERY over the top turnovers. Aside from that, there's no alley oop when you revert to the older scheme. Just ain't right. Is there any possibility to get this done? Hopefully prior to the start of the season.

Can it be done? More importantly, will it? I know they're working on the NG launch for 2k14, but they shuldn't forget about those of us who bought it on day 1. I feel like we are being punished.

The devs already said they are adding the alley oop back to the old configuration in the next patch.

How are you turning the ball over without meaning to pass? If you mean that you're accidentally hitting the flashy pass modifier thinking you're going to take a jump shot then that's completely your fault. Just try getting more comfortable with the controls and you'll stop making those mistakes.

Get over it. The previous iteration can still be played. I'm coming from 2K12 and have got '14 down like 20 games into the season i'm playing--you'll be okay. Do the training camp.

Like return.specialist said, I'm coming from 2k12 also and at first when I started playing, I was shocked about how much the controls has changed. Do the training camp just like all the previous games and you're good to go.

However, I loved the controls in 2k12, since most of the time I play MyPlayer as a Power Forward and taking shots/dunks/fakes in the post can be a pain in the a** with the new controls. They should bring those back aswell. Planning to take the game back anyways, dont like the whole VC thing going on here. Especially the contract in MyPlayer, why is it in VC?

Can somebody tell me how to use the 2K13 controls?

Go to your controller settings to change it to iso/shot.

Not cool. I loved the idea of the LT being the 'Pass Mode' button, so-to-speak. I HATED having to push X and A at the same time to trigger and oop. I think its fine the way it is, they just need to change the Fake Pass to something like LT+B or something. (Xbox 360 obviously)

Re: Any chance we can get a control patch?

IMO it's like playing fight night. I hate the new heisitation... Seriously... How hard was it to just keep the 'tap turbo' way. I've done the training camp. Twice. Just don't like the new set up. I know they coud've come up with a better way. Having LT/L2 as the shot modifier was far preferable to the "flash pass".

As far as my own circle of friends, to a man they prefer the old set up. I've played 5-6 games so far and the new controls, for me, just aren't as fluid as intuitive as the way they were in 2k13. Having the iso moves on the right stick with a little help from the left was pretty perfect. Now I'm like a big dumb ape trying to remember which one is towards the hoop, baseline, or away from the basket.

I know ppl (not from this site, because we are all sports nuts here) complain and say that unless they change stuff from year to year that it's basically a roster update for 60 bucks. I never looked at it like that. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

As for the alley oops with X/A, I prefer that to the fake pass. I like the 'new' alley oops control, but I'm fine with the old set up. I play (mainly) with the Knicks, and Chandler usually gets all his points on the A-O...

As far as me turning the ball over, I know I'm doing it, but not on purpose. I have the old controls so ingrained into me that I pull the LT and before I can readjust, the ball goes sailing. Me and a buddy were talking about this last night. He said he's done it when he goes in on a fast break, then outta nowhere he whips the ball away from the basket instead of planting and slamming the ball home.

I just think they tried to make too many changes all at once. But that's me. I'll be glad when they patch the game so you can use the old complete set up.

                      Great notice.

Also, I hope that give and go system back to the 2k13 configuration.

You can still use the new controls. IIRC it just adds the alley oop to the controls where iso is on the rights stick. The new controls stay the same. (As far as I know)
