Anyone not buying 14?
I am a buyer if only to support the franchise. Tons of hours of fun for 64 bucks.Tags: None -
Re: Anyone not buying 14?
I think I'll buy it, but not on day 1. For me this connected with the purchase of a PS 4. And since not many other game intrigue me right now The Show 14 should really be the best in the history of the series to justify this investment for me. That's why I'm holding off to see what the community has to say.
That being said, fielding really needs some work in general. As well as the regression system, veteran players over 35 with high ratings at the beginning of season 1 shouldn't ALWAYS have a 15 to 20 point drop of their rating in the time span from April to end of September. Also it shouldn't happen as often that young players that peak early start regressing in their mid-twenties.
Those 2 areas are the biggest issues for me with The Show 13 and they are the ones that really need to be improved for me to buy The Show 14 (plus a PS 4)Spending time with Jesus!

Not buying the show is like being a Nazi Communist; it makes no sense.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Anyone not buying 14?
Not a chance. I skipped out on '12 because I didn't want to buy a PS3 for just one game and ('11 was the last version on the PS2) but this past spring I couldn't resist the temptation and bought one. I'll be buying '14 as soon as it hits the shelves. Besides FIFA and NHL, it's the only game I play, and The Show comes before those two in the pecking order lol.Comment

Re: Anyone not buying 14?
I have always been a huge MLB The Show fan and spend a lot of time testing, building rating calculators, player generators and simming. Its a big part of my life. That said, MLB 13 was really disappointing on many fronts.
When it was first released there were a few bugs that made meat balls a regular occurrence, and most of us were told we were haters. A lot of us didnt like the presentation direction RTTS went, and were told that because the dev's told it was coming to basically get over it. I hated the direction guess pitch went. And then the way we were told it wasnt T-ball anymore but they went and changed the timing and difficulty so much it made the game way too easy...kinda hurts being so glib about how gamers feel about a game they spend a lot of time and money on.
I was always pro developer, pro SCEA guy that routinely backed the developers to the "haters" but this year the attitude seemed to change and was basically told we dont matter as much because they want to cater to masses and not the diehards because theres more casual fans than diehards. I get most of it but the public relations this year was disheartening and will affect my decision on the next console.
I hated soccer as a sport, never played FIFA in my life, I bought MLB 13, liked the new physics but beyond that I was completely disappointed after that and became a FIFA player. I love baseball, MLB The Show is still the best game and the reason I stay loyal to Playstation...but right now Im seriously on the fence. I really hope the game is amazing and I get that feeling I did every other year, Ive only been disappointed once with this game so they still have a good track record by my counts.Last edited by MLB Bob; 10-20-2013, 02:46 PM.Comment

Re: Anyone not buying 14?
I wont be buying another game until I can afford a PS4 unfortunately. Luckily MLBTS13 and NBA2k14 are great games and will keep my interest for a while since I cant afford a new system.
Plus I messed up and erased my franchise file so I just got started good again on my franchise, and with the Hybrid BD roster and my additional edits I have some very realistic stats and I am OCD about stats, so I plan on playing this chise several years deep.
Im starting to think from a financial standpoint it makes more sense especially with baseball if your a franchise guy to just buy every couple years rather than buy every year so you can dig deep into it. Seems like a waste of money to buy every year and not even sometime getting a season done.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11
Favorite teams:
MLB- Reds/ and whoever is playing the Cubs
NBA- Pacers
NFL- Dolphins & ColtsComment

Re: Anyone not buying 14?
I need to get more information on the PS4 before I pay for it. I'm not buying a PS4 until I'm positive that it is backwards compatible, or that I will still have access to the games I'm playing now (from PSN), namely Kingdom Hearts, Prince of Persia, and Devil May Cry.Comment
