Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions Thread
For Question 3, use Charter's sliders. I'm 2-5 so far with the Lions.I was thinking of purchasing Madden 25 for the Xbox 360, but I had a few questions before doing so. Didn't want to start a dedicated thread for this...but I figured some people posting in here could help me out. My questions are:
- Can you take two custom playbooks/gameplans in user vs. user offline "play now" games?
- Are you able to control all 32 teams in connected franchise mode? Are you able to customize the divisions? Is create-a-team mode back in the game?
- Can this be a realistic sim with slider/ratings tweaks?
Thanks in advance to everybody who's willing to help me out here.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions Thread
I mostly play games online, because I just really don't like playing against an AI in football games. I find the experience to be much like Madden 13. There are a few problems, some of which were in Madden 13 and some are new. These are in no particular order.
1. Kickoff returns for TD seem way too common. I played a game where my opponent and I combined for 4 kickoff returns for TDs. (2 each)
2. The running game is over-powered. You hit the running back 2 yards in the back field and he stumbles for a 3 yard gain. I'm okay if this happens on a rare occasion, but this happens way too frequently.
3. Short passes are almost unstoppable. Quick outs, crossing routes, etc. You can stop them, but you have to exert so much effort that you give up the big play.
4. QB accuracy is way too good. It makes it so that it doesn't matter who your QB is. Peyton Manning might be able to throw 99% of his passes accurately, but if he gets hurt, its okay, because his backup can probably throw 98% of his passes accurately.
5. Ratings for OL/DL don't seem to matter. Whoever is out there, you seem to get about the same results.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions Thread
I should have my head examined before i purchased this game. I told myself I wasn't buying this year as I didn't buy last year, but I caved (even after reading the reviews) and went ahead and got it.
Played two games in COACH MODE CF with the Pats and it's just terrible. It's the SAME horrible gameplay that has crippled this franchise year after year. I see running backs making HORRIBLE cuts, semi-deep passes (thrown by Brady) where they end up underthrown (which happened QUITE frequently). I can of course understand that deep balls aren't always caught, but these were actually not even hail mary's, they were outs and posts.
If I have 4th and inches, and I select a "Go for it" and I see the play is a HB ISO or some quick run play, and the RB stops and makes a SIDEWAYS cut running ALONG the side of my offensive line only to get tackled for a loss, instead of plowing through, then I don't know what to say.
Sure people play online and have fun with the game cause they're controlling every facet of the game and the players, but if the AI is controlling them then it's a disaster.
How is it possible that this game STILL is terrible after 8 years is beyond me. I really regret my purchase as I should have just waited again until next year.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 25 Impressions Thread
Back when this game first came out I use to pick the Patriots and start Tebow because he could run in addition to his pin point accuracy. People use to get pissed off because they couldn't stop Tebow, I threw for 300 and ran for 70-100 yds with him almost every game. I would always receive a message that I was cheezin after the game, so hilarious.I mostly play games online, because I just really don't like playing against an AI in football games.
