    Coach Mode Option Runs

Does the Option work properly on Coach Mode this year? My QB always seems to keep the ball, no matter what the read DE does.

Im in coach mode with the seahawks post-update. Lynch gets it 90% of the time. Before my qb would always keep it.

Seems to be working fine for me in all of my CFMs, haven't had any problems so far.

Doesn't work for me AT ALL. I've tested with 4 different teams (Dolphins, Colts, Seahawks, Patriots) to see if it's somehow related to the AWR of the QB.

No matter which team I use, the QB will ALWAYS keep the ball on option plays. The pitch plays (e.g. Speed Option, Load Option) work fine but on read option plays the QB will always keep the ball.

        I play on all-madden.

        Any help is appreciated...

Mine is exactly the same, speed options are the only ones that work as planned. I've almost completely given up on it. Every now and again I'll run a read option in practice hoping it'll work. But I don't think QB's scramble at all in coach mode sadly.

I've run read option and it seems to work fine. If you want the RB to get the ball, hold X (PS3) or A (360) from snapping and don't let go--and your RB gets the ball. If you want your QB to run, just snap and go with your QB.

I can't know pre-snap if I want my QB or RB to get the ball. That depends on how the read player (usually a DE) reacts directly after the snap.

If I keep holding X (PS3) after the snap, can I still react to the DE?

Look at defensive line to see where they are positioned. If you see someone on the outside "waiting" for you, just snap and let your RB go with it. It all depends how the defensive line is setup. If you are quick enough to read the defensive player, then react accordingly. This is for read option where you go outside and RB goes inside.

That's fine when I'm actually playing. But when I have coach mode activated I sit back and watch the AI control my QB etc. I hear NCAA doesn't have this problem.

You can do what I said even with coach mode on. I prefer to run with my QB rather than have the AI do it.

The QB has not once handed it off to the RB for me. I've tried over 100 times. Every single time the QB keeps it no matter the situation.
Is there anything in particular you do? My QB has over 90 awareness so I know it's not something like that. I've tried all the different read options I could.

The QB just wants the ball haha

I experienced the same problem in coach mode.

You have to hold the X/A button, not tap it. Tapping the button means QB gets the ball, holding it means the RB gets the ball. I am pretty sure this is explained in either drills or manual, think it was drills.

But it's still impossible to know if the read DE is coming for the RB or waiting for the QB before the ball is snapped.

Before you snap the ball, look at the defensive alignment. If you see a defensive player "waiting" for you outside the front line, actually lined up to the extreme outside, just let the RB have the ball if he's going into the line. If you're doing a lead option where both you and the RB are going outside, I would audible to a pass or run up the middle.
