MyCareer got worse since last year

NBA 2K14 is the worst sports game I have played, for a bunch of reasons. I'm only going to focus on MyCareer though. 2K said they would fix teammate AI but instead they made it worse because now teammates never shoot even when they are wide open. I play as a PG on the Raptors, I used cheat engine to make myself 99 overall, and I score 24 to 30 points every game but we still get blown out regularly. The main reason is because I'm the only one who shoots the ball good. My team either runs around and then takes a low quality shot or passes the ball around until the shot clock runs out and then takes a really bad shot. There are very few moments where my team plays like a real NBA team. And my player is constantly harassed on the fake twitter feed because they say I don't get enough assists, but that's not my fault, it's a problem with the computer not shooting.

Also, the momentum system makes it impossible for my incompetent teammates to hold a lead. Whenever our lead gets big enough, the momentum system kicks in and the game starts cheating for the other team. What I mean by this is that the computer will make every shot, good or bad, all the fouls will be in their favor, and they always win the rebounding battle.

I cannot play MyCareer anymore. Nobody but a PG can use the right D-pad commands to do anything offensively. I can't call a post-up for my center or get anyone to cut to the basket. You have zero control over the offense if you arent the pg.

I used to be really good at pick and rolls but Toronto is not good at making screens for me. And the main guy setting screens for me, Tyler Hansbrough, broke his arm and is out for the rest of the season.

I cannot play MyCareer anymore. Nobody but a PG can use the right D-pad commands to do anything offensively. I can't call a post-up for my center or get anyone to cut to the basket. You have zero control over the offense if you arent the pg.

wouldn't a point forward or on the court coach sig skill work?

You can tell other players to set picks/screens for you; I'm not playing right now so I don't know how off the top of my head, but I often have Kevin Martin set screens/picks for me and depending on the D reaction I'll either kick it out to Martin for an open jumper or attack the basket, I run pick and rolls/pick and pops with Love, I run pick and rolls with Pek or pick and rolls, give and go's or alley oops with Rubio.

It's because I have six minute quarters, because I pass a lot, and because the momentum system can make me keep missing open jumpshots and threes. In 2K13 I did the same thing and got more points.

Maybe he wants to keep his stats somewhat realistic. Not everyone likes having to score 70 points per game.

Yes, tendencies are off on a lot of teams. In my experience though the CPU still shoots when it's open. Also, haters gonna hate. You think real players don't get guys whining at them on twitter for the stupidest things?

There is no momentum system that 'kicks in', depending on your difficulty the opponent CPU players always have better attributes. That's how high difficulty works in games. If you want your team to play as well as the opponent, play on a lower difficulty. Momentum (not difficulty) shifts back and forth depending on what happens on the floor.

All in all it sounds to me like you're not using the tools you have and playing on a difficulty too hard for you.

Yeah, he's not interested in playing realistically. He used the cheat engine to become 99 ovr and he's scoring 24-30 points in about 19 minutes(6 min qtrs)or 48-60 points in 38 minutes(12 min qtrs).

First, Mike Wang stated there is no momentum code in the game. Let's get off that broken record right now.

There are way too many variables in your original post to really know what is going on - for example do you run plays and what your team chemistry is at.

This year's MyCareer has a lot of little things fixed in it (ie starting in the all-star game) yet there are things that still need work. To say it is "worse" is a huge stretch, one that just isn't true.

My Detroit Piston team is on a 8-2 run where we had a great game against both Indiana (who we beat) and Golden State (who beat us) and we had a really lousy game against Sacramento where after 4 road game we really looked like we had tired legs. (We still kept the game within 10 points but you can tell the team was fatigued.)

Against OKC and Golden State, Josh Smith scored 29 and 21 points respectively while against Sacramento and Indiana he scored 10 and 13 respectively.

In those same games, Greg Monroe posted 11-15 rebounds and between 2-4 blocks a game.

I'm not saying it is all roses, for example Drummond is struggling a little but it is far from the situation where my team rarely plays like an NBA team.

The AI does have its weaknesses, for example it tries to treat all PF's as if they were Dirk or Kevin Love - and I really hope Next Gen capabilities allows that to be improved upon. Another big weakness in the AI is that it does not play small ball squads as effectively as it should.

All of this is stuff 2k should be able to improve on and they should continue to fix the little things (like bringing your PG way too far out when setting up the Defense) - we should list all of these things for them; hopefully they will do something concrete and timely with what we give them.

Assists not being credited is something that 2k is weak on and a better way to award assists should be worked on but it is no worse then any of the past four years.

As far as the twitter goals, the in-game game goals and the "milestones" go - they are part of a bigger issue - the cumbersome and in-flexible grading system. This is something that needs more then a graphical facelift.

2k really needs to separate offline MyCareer from the online MyPlayer - the purpose of both interfere with each other way to much. My first year, rated 69 PG is being treated like the five-time MVP who is an established Superstar just so those Online gamers get to experience all the accolades before they transfer to their preferred mode of play.

wow I had no idea about that sig skill doing that. The description just said they would pass the ball to you whenever you want. Yet another example of why we need manuals and instructions back in videogames! I don't think you should be forced to use a sig skill slot for that but its better than nothing I suppose.
